On the morning of March 11th, the Hanoi City Party Committee, in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh National Political Academy, organized a scientific conference with the theme: "95 years since the founding of the Hanoi City Party Committee: its stature and historical significance" (March 17, 1930 - March 17, 2025).
This is a significant and practical activity to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Hanoi City Party Committee. The seminar is an opportunity to look back on the 95-year journey of struggle, construction, and development of the Hanoi Party Committee, identify opportunities and challenges in the new period, draw lessons learned, and propose directions and tasks for the development of the Capital City in the new era - the era of national progress.
The workshop was attended by 150 delegates, including representatives from central agencies, the Ho Chi Minh National Political Academy, leaders of the City Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, leaders of departments, agencies, districts, and towns; experts, scientists, and representatives of the families of former senior leaders.
The seminar focused on three main parts: Part one: Hanoi, the birthplace of revolutionary movements. Part two: The Party leaders and pioneering leaders of the Hanoi Party Committee during its founding. Part three: Lessons learned from the Hanoi Party Committee's 95 years of construction and development.
In his concluding remarks at the scientific conference themed "95 Years Since the Establishment of the Hanoi City Party Committee - Its Historical Significance and Significance (March 17, 1930 - March 17, 2025)", Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Danh Tien - Director of the Institute of Party History (Ho Chi Minh National Political Academy) stated that the presentations had comprehensively and profoundly reflected the significance and leadership role of the Hanoi City Party Committee over the past 95 years.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Danh Tien, with a sense of urgency, seriousness, and high responsibility, the scientific conference "95 Years of the Establishment of the Hanoi City Party Committee: Historical Significance (March 17, 1930 - March 17, 2025)" has completed its entire planned program.
Nearly 40 papers presented at the conference built upon the achievements of scientific research related to the leadership of the Hanoi City Party Committee throughout various historical periods. Simultaneously, they explored new materials and insights. The papers comprehensively and profoundly reflected the stature, significance, and leadership role of the Hanoi City Party Committee over the past 95 years.
The papers submitted to the Conference and the opinions expressed at the scientific conference analyzed and clarified Hanoi – the birthplace of revolutionary movements. Related to this topic, more than 10 articles addressed revolutionary movements in Hanoi in the early decades of the 20th century, particularly the role and significance of the establishment of the Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association branch in Hanoi. These articles affirmed that patriotic and revolutionary movements in Hanoi in the early decades of the 20th century became a focal point, creating a vibrant revolutionary wave throughout the country.
Many presentations highlighted that the establishment of the Hanoi City Party Committee (March 17, 1930) and the revolutionary movements in Hanoi, Ha Dong, and Son Tay were the nucleus for the Party organization to take root in the nationwide revolutionary movement. The exemplary leadership of the Hanoi Party Committee in the face of brutal repression by the enemy became a spiritual anchor, inspiring the revolutionary movement throughout the country in its struggle for independence.
Articles about the process of establishing the Hanoi Party Committee and leading the struggle for power in the capital have affirmed that Hanoi is the birthplace of many patriotic and revolutionary movements. Notable examples include the 5D Ham Long Communist Party Branch – the first Communist Party Branch in the country; the establishment of the Dong Phu and Da Phuc Party Branches in the outskirts of Hanoi; and the event in Trung Mau commune (now part of Hanoi), the first commune in the Northern Delta to revolt and seize power (March 10, 1945).

The revolutionary movements in Hanoi and the two provinces of Ha Dong and Son Tay have been etched in the memory of the nation and the people of Hanoi, urging generations of young people to be ready for battle, such as the "Three Ready" movement; the "Three Capable" movement; "Putting aside pens and books to go fight the Americans"; and the "Truong Son stick" movement... The immense contributions of the army and people of Hanoi in the resistance war against the US, saving the country, were admired and praised by friends around the world as "the capital of conscience and human dignity".

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Danh Tien also stated that the presentations at the conference clarified the role and immense contributions of President Ho Chi Minh, the Party leaders, and the exemplary pioneering leaders of the Hanoi Party Committee during the Party's founding period.
Scientists unanimously agree on one point: the achievements of the past 95 years are due to the close attention and leadership of the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, and successive generations of Party and State leaders, as well as the exemplary pioneering leaders of the Hanoi Party Committee during its founding; the dedication and sense of responsibility of the City Party Secretaries and government leaders throughout history; and the consensus of all strata of the people.
Many articles have delved into analyzing and clarifying the immense contributions of Party and State leaders; exemplary senior leaders of the Hanoi Party Committee during the Party-building period; the establishment of the Hanoi City Party Committee after numerous fierce attacks by the enemy; the building and consolidation of Party organizations and the restoration of the revolutionary movement in Hanoi, Ha Dong, and Son Tay; and the leadership of the revolutionary movement during critical times such as: the struggle for power during the August Revolution in Hanoi, the 60-day and 60-night battle to defend the capital, and the resistance against French colonial aggression... Notable examples include comrades Nguyen Phong Sac, Do Ngoc Du, Nguyen Ngoc Vu, and Tran Quy Kien.
At the same time, the discussions also delved into analyzing and clarifying the lessons learned from the revolutionary leadership of the Hanoi Party Committee - the decisive factor in all of Hanoi's victories over the past 95 years.
Nearly 10 presentations affirmed that the 95 years of leadership in the revolutionary cause by the Hanoi Party Committee have yielded many valuable lessons, such as: the Hanoi Party Committee has always thoroughly understood and creatively applied the Party's guidelines to suit the specific conditions of the city in each historical period; the lesson of striving to overcome difficulties to promote industrialization, modernization, and international integration; and the lesson of exploiting all potentials and strengths, effectively mobilizing all resources of the city, and the strength of the political system.
At the same time, we must promote democracy and the strength of solidarity among all strata of the people in developing the digital economy, developing the cultural industry, and streamlining the apparatus towards a "lean, efficient, effective, and effective" model. Lessons learned include leveraging the attention and assistance of the Central Government and closely coordinating with central ministries, departments, and agencies, as well as local authorities, with the spirit of "The whole country for Hanoi, Hanoi for the whole country." Lessons also include strengthening Party building and rectification, consistently caring for and building a truly clean and strong Hanoi Party Committee; enhancing the leadership capacity and fighting strength of grassroots Party organizations; strengthening the close relationship between cadres, Party members, and the people; and fostering the people's trust in the Party.
Nearly 40 presentations, rich in content and scientifically analyzed, clarified the significance and importance of the establishment of the Hanoi City Party Committee and its leadership role over the past 95 years. This, in turn, awakened national pride and enhanced the confidence of cadres, Party members, and all strata of the people of Hanoi in the leadership of the City Party Committee.
At the same time, it contributes to nurturing and promoting the heroic and exemplary traditions of Hanoi, a cultural and pioneering city worthy of being the heart of the nation, creating the foundation for Hanoi to confidently and proudly enter the "new era - the era of national progress," building Hanoi into a "Cultural - Civilized - Modern" city - a globally connected city; a center and driving force for the development of the Red River Delta region, the key economic region of Northern Vietnam and the whole country; deeply integrated into the international community, highly competitive with the region and the world, developing to the level of capitals of developed countries in the region and the world.
