Hanoi's fervent revolutionary spirit before 1945 is vividly portrayed in the painting "Capturing the Northern Palace" by artist Tran Dinh Tho. The heroic Hanoi of the early days of the resistance is recreated in works such as "The Fortifications at Nga Tu So Crossroads" and "Cho Mo Market" by artist Nguyen Van Ty, "Hanoi in 1947" by artist Cong Van Trung, and "The Capital of Resistance" by artist Nguyen Quang Phong… These heroic memories of the resilient resistance of the capital's army and people always evoke feelings of pride in viewers.
After nine years of resistance, Hanoi was depicted in a vibrant atmosphere of flags and flowers welcoming the troops who liberated the capital. Works such as: "Hanoi on Liberation Night" (by artist Le Thanh Duc), "Hang Duong Street" (by artist Trinh Huu Ngoc), "The Joy of Liberation" (by artist Tran Khanh Chuong)... are beautiful images that are etched in memory, remembered, and will forever live on in the hearts of every Hanoian.

In particular, Hanoi was also the place where President Ho Chi Minh spent the longest time in his life. Despite his busy schedule, he always found time to visit and encourage the people, soldiers, workers, and even the future generations of the capital. This close and affectionate image is captured in works such as "Uncle Ho with the Gia Lam Railway Workers" by artist Pham Van Lung, and "Uncle Ho Visiting a Kindergarten Class" by artist Do Huu Hue…

In addition, many works depict a Hanoi that has stood firm through the years of war, striving to build an increasingly beautiful capital city. This includes the tranquil, ancient Hanoi portrayed in the works of artists Tran Binh Loc and Bui Xuan Phai… The vibrant colors of the capital's construction and development are expressed through the works of artists Pham Van Don, Vu Duy Nghia, Kim Thai, and Nguyet Nga… promising to bring viewers special emotional experiences about Hanoi this autumn.
The exhibition combines traditional displays with modern digital projection technology, and also features woodblock printing to provide an engaging experience for art lovers.

The public experiences the woodblock printing activity.
Visiting the exhibition, Phan Phuong Anh (student of the Academy of Journalism and Communication) shared: “As a child born and raised in Hanoi, I was very moved when I visited the exhibition. Although I was born in the later generation, when looking at the works of art, I felt the heroic atmosphere of Hanoi 70 years ago, those images were depicted very realistically and clearly by the artists. Through this exhibition, I understand more clearly the great sacrifices of our ancestors and how much the previous generations tried to bring independence and freedom to our nation today. Therefore, I realize that I, as well as other young people, need to strive to study and develop ourselves more to contribute to building a rich and civilized Vietnam.”
Within the framework of the exhibition, at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, October 12, 2024, there will be an art talk program with the theme "Famous painter Nguyen Tu Nghiem - the person who connects traditional aesthetic values with contemporary".

The exhibition attracted a large number of visitors.
The exhibition "Hanoi Vitality and Faith" will run until October 22, 2024 on the 1st floor of Building B, Vietnam Fine Arts Museum (66 Nguyen Thai Hoc, Ba Dinh, Hanoi)./.
