
Nine new artisans were honored, including Mr. Pham Anh Dung (born in 1945) and Ms. Nguyen Thi Phiu (born in 1958) from Xuan Neo embroidery village, Hung Dao commune (Tu Ky district), with their embroidery skills.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien and Ms. Tran Thi Ha (both born in 1986) work at Chu Dau Ceramic Joint Stock Company in Thai Tan commune (Nam Sach district), specializing in decorating ceramic and porcelain products with paint.
In the Cúc Bồ carpentry village, Kiến Phúc commune (Ninh Giang district), there are Mr. Bùi Văn Mạnh (born in 1976) and Mr. Bùi Văn Quyến (born in 1977) who specialize in carpentry for temples and pagodas.
In Hoang Dieu commune (Gia Loc district), there is Mr. Pham Gia Thien (born in 1955) from Van Lam leather shoe-making village, Mr. Pham Van Hung (born in 1976) and Mr. Vu Van Thao (born in 1977) both from Phong Lam leather shoe-making village, specializing in artistic design and leather footwear production.
Since 2012, Hai Duong province has begun organizing the evaluation and awarding of the title of artisan in small-scale handicrafts. The evaluation is conducted every two years. To date, the province has 70 artisans in small-scale handicrafts, concentrated in several sectors such as embroidery, wood carving, and mechanical engineering.
