On September 4th, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in coordination with the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, organized the Vietnam International Sourcing 2025 (VIS 2025) Export Forum and Exhibition. This is the third year the event has been held, on a scale one and a half times larger than the previous year.
VIS 2025 saw the participation of over 400 Vietnamese businesses, showcasing 12,000 products. The participating and exhibited product categories were quite diverse, ranging from agricultural products, processed foods, beverages, textiles, footwear, wood products, furniture, and packaging.
Meanwhile, international purchasing delegations not only come from traditional markets such as the US, EU, Japan, South Korea, and Europe, but also expand to many potential regions including the Middle East and Latin America. Notably, a new feature of this year's event is the participation of 60 Vietnamese trade offices abroad, connecting and supporting businesses in finding sustainable outlets.
According to reports, the program was quite lively on its first day with promotional events and numerous businesses seeking opportunities for cooperation and investment.
The organizers stated that the event will not only include exhibitions and networking in the main hall, but also a variety of specialized seminars, forums, and activities in local areas. For example, on September 6-9, 150 international business delegations will visit Tay Ninh province to explore the investment environment and network.
According to many experts, in the context of volatile global trade and rapid changes in consumer behavior, this event is seen as a great opportunity for Vietnamese businesses to participate more deeply in global production networks and value chains.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, businesses proactively sought to learn about the products displayed at the event.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Phan Thi Thang, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, said that Vietnam's import and export turnover in 2024 reached over 786 billion USD, of which exports accounted for 405 billion USD, an increase of 14.3%. Entering 2025, in just the first seven months, the total turnover reached nearly 515 billion USD, an increase of 16.3% compared to the same period.
"The three-day networking event is not just a meeting place, but also the beginning of long-term collaborations, bringing Vietnamese businesses deeper into the global supply chain."
"The target of 12% growth in exports and imports this year is achievable if we make good use of opportunities from networking forums like VIS 2025," Ms. Thang emphasized.
According to leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, within the framework of the event, a series of specialized conferences and seminars were organized, creating two-way interaction. This is an opportunity for Vietnamese businesses to update market trends and grasp new regulations on import and export. Conversely, international buyers can learn about Vietnam's production capacity, development orientation, and supply capabilities.

Domestic and foreign businesses are proactively seeking opportunities for cooperation.
