Spain's players arrived in Madrid to celebrate their Euro 2024 win with a fervor that exceeded all expectations.

Spain beat England 2-1 in the Euro 2024 final to be crowned champions in convincing fashion. After their brilliant displays in Germany, they have now brought the trophy home to a rapturous reception from all their fans. Tens of thousands of jubilant fans greeted them during a parade in Madrid. “Champions, champions!” fans shouted at the players and coach, who celebrated their victory on an open-top double-decker bus, with the trophy placed on the front with the words “This is just the beginning”. On balconies and crowded sidewalks, excited fans, many children and some from as far away as Spain, waved to the players, who wore white T-shirts reading “Kings of Europe” and a large number 4 to mark Spain’s fourth continental title. King Felipe VI of Spain told the team at a ceremony at the palace: "I want to thank you for your efforts and the way you played with joy. Such joy is good for us."
