Coach Mai Duc Chung reveals how to defeat Indonesia's team of naturalized players.

(Dan Tri Newspaper) - Vietnam women's national team coach Mai Duc Chung believes Indonesia has become stronger thanks to its naturalized players. However, he and his players have a plan to defeat them in the SEA Games semi-finals.

The semi-final match of the women's football event at the 33rd SEA Games between the Vietnamese women's team and the Indonesian women's team will take place at 4 PM tomorrow at the IPE Chonburi Stadium (Thailand).

Before the semi-final match, coach Mai Duc Chung said: “I know the Indonesian women's football team has four naturalized players. They are good at playing long balls and aerial balls. Their players have good heading ability.”

"However, I have studied our opponents and have a plan to counter their tall and strong players. We will press high and not give them any space to operate," added coach Mai Duc Chung.

Compared to the Indonesian women's team, the Vietnamese women's football team is considered stronger. Our girls have better ball control and coordination. Coach Mai Duc Chung revealed that we will capitalize on these strengths.

Coach Chung shared: “The Vietnamese women's football team will not play long balls or compete physically with Indonesia. We will coordinate on the field. My players will bring out the best in each game.”

"Indonesia has made a lot of progress, evidenced by the fact that they had never reached the semi-finals of the SEA Games before, but now they have. I always respect our opponents and have always held them in high regard."

However, I promise the fans that even though Indonesia has many players with good qualities similar to the Philippines, and even though the opposing team has many naturalized players, I believe that the Vietnamese women's team will win. We will play with the highest spirit to earn the right to reach the final," Coach Mai Duc Chung affirmed.

Immediately following the first semi-final match between the Vietnamese and Indonesian women's teams, the second semi-final will be between host nation Thailand and the Philippines, at 6:30 PM tomorrow, at Chonburi Stadium.

The two winning teams in the semi-finals will meet in the gold medal match on December 17th, while the two losing teams will meet in the bronze medal match.
