Miss World Priyanka Chopra reveals her young husband watched her crowned at age 8

In an Instagram post shared on September 17, Priyanka Chopra captured herself at The O2 with the caption: "September 16th shouldn't have been so much fun," before recounting her victory at the 2000 Miss World pageant, along with an incident.

"I was crowned Miss World in this arena 24 years ago. I will never forget that moment of me as an 18-year-old, excited, nervous and competitive, trying to look perfect, to be the most beautiful," Priyanka Chopra continued.

The actress later revealed that a wardrobe malfunction almost made the moment even more "memorable," though not in a good way.

"The memory I will never forget from November 30, 2000 is balancing on high heels with my beautiful Hemant Trivedi evening gown slipping down all evening, because the velcro was not holding the dress in place because I was sweating so much. If you do a Google image search, after winning, it looked like I was saluting to show my gratitude but I was actually struggling to keep my dress from slipping. Luckily everything turned out okay in the end," she said.

Priyanka Chopra crowned Miss World 2000 at the age of 18

During an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show last year, Priyanka Chopra revealed that her musician husband saw her compete in a beauty pageant 24 years ago and fell in love with her at first sight. They married in 2018 and now have a daughter.

"My mother-in-law said, 'I remember watching you when you won the crown,'" the former Miss World told host Jennifer Hudson.

"I remember very clearly that it was November 2000, Nick was in a Broadway show when he was 8 years old. Kevin Sr. - my father-in-law - loved watching beauty pageants. He watched the finale and Nick sat down next to him," Priyanka Chopra recalled.

After Hudson asked if she believed the relationship was destined because of that moment, Chopra replied, "Maybe."

"I believe that people are meant to be together at some point in their lives. And I think it's destiny," the Quantico actress said.

Priyanka Chopra is one of India's highest-paid and most popular actresses. She has received numerous awards, including a National Film Award and five Filmfare Awards.
