This evening, October 25th, VT students, on behalf of a group of students from Tan Tuc High School (Binh Chanh District, Ho Chi Minh City), directly reported to a reporter from Thanh Nien Newspaper about the videos of female students being secretly filmed in the restroom.
According to VT, about three days ago, a group of students from Tan Tuc High School accidentally discovered an account named HQ, belonging to a fellow student, selling thousands of sensitive clips and images on a social media forum.
Specifically, the clips and images, allegedly secretly filmed in the girls' restroom at Tan Tuc High School, show sensitive images of female students in their uniforms and name tags. Furthermore, according to reports from VT students, these images and clips had been offered for sale on this forum since 2023.
Upon discovering the incident, the group of students from Tan Tuc High School reported it to the school's administration. However, according to what the students shared with Thanh Nien newspaper, "the school is aware of the incident and the police have come to the school to investigate, but the school announced that the student from South Korea, who is believed to be the owner of the account selling the images, is innocent. Currently, we students, especially the female students, are very confused and scared, not knowing whether we were secretly filmed or not."
At the same time, the aforementioned student also provided reporters from Thanh Nien Newspaper with evidence reflecting the sale of accounts and the spread of secretly filmed images on social media.
Another student sent a letter to the editorial office stating: "Approximately 13,000 videos and 15,000 photos were distributed and sold on dark web sites, with cameras placed in the bidets throughout the school's restrooms. All the students in the school know about it and have evidence of the perpetrator, but when the school investigated, they claimed the culprit was innocent."
"I truly feel it's very unfair because most of the female students at our school were filmed. Among the victims is my friend, who is at an age where she should be studying and growing up. Being secretly filmed like this is a huge shock. I hope you will help us get justice."
On the evening of October 25th, a reporter from Thanh Nien Newspaper contacted Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tong, Principal of Tan Tuc High School. Mr. Tong stated: "The school is aware of the incident and has reported it to the Department of Education and Training and the police. The school is cooperating with the police in the investigation. The incident is currently under the police's attention and being handled. Once the police investigation is complete, the school will provide accurate information."
The incident not only caused concern among students at this school, but according to Thanh Nien newspaper reporters, this evening, students at several other schools also learned about the issue and expressed worries about using the school's restrooms.
Thanh Nien newspaper will continue to update information regarding the secret filming and distribution of sensitive images in the restrooms of Tan Tuc High School.
