On the afternoon of October 28, the delegation of students of the Advanced Political Theory class K75.B07 - Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics had a working session with the Department of Industry and Trade of Gia Lai province on the topic "State management of enterprises and policies on capital sources, technology, and investment incentives for hydropower development in Gia Lai province."
The delegation was led by Dr. Do Van Quan - Deputy Director of the Institute of Economics, Society and Environment (Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics); Dr. Le Van Toan - Department of Training Management, Head of the class, Deputy Head of the delegation, and 56 students participated.
Welcoming the delegation were Mr. Duong Minh Duc, Provincial Party Committee member, Party Committee Secretary, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade and leaders of the Department's functional departments and offices.
At the meeting, Mr. Duong Minh Duc informed about the current status of energy projects in the province up to now. There are 83 power plants in operation with a total capacity of 4,046 MW, including 57 hydropower plants with a total capacity of 2,516 MW ; 17 wind power plants with a total capacity of 916 MW; 07 solar power plants with a total capacity of 606 MWp (equivalent to 484 MW); 5,288 rooftop solar power systems with a total capacity of 825 MWp and 2 biomass power plants with a total capacity of 130 MW. According to the approved Power Planning Adjustment VIII, the total capacity of renewable energy projects in Gia Lai province in the period of 2025-2030 is about 6,537 MW.
Mr. Duong Minh Duc also presented the Plan for developing energy projects in the province in the coming time. In particular, with the advantage of geographical location, Gia Lai province has a viewpoint of strongly promoting the development of renewable energy sources; focusing on attracting investment in developing renewable energy, clean energy such as coastal wind power, offshore wind power, solar power, biomass power, waste power...
At the working session, there were 15 opinions exchanged by comrades in the Working Group on the implementation of the VIII Power Plan, hydropower development; policies to encourage and attract investment in renewable energy projects in the province, etc., hoping for closer attention from the Provincial Party Committee, People's Committee and advice from the Department of Industry and Trade on hydropower development in Gia Lai province.
On behalf of the working group, Mr. Do Van Quan assessed that the selection of the working topic was very timely, adaptive, quick and suitable to the current situation of the country. Through the working session, the working group had a better understanding of the practice of State management of enterprises and policies on capital, technology, and investment incentives for hydropower development in Gia Lai province, which is the basis for summarizing practices associated with theory during the learning and training process at the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics.

Previously, on the afternoon of October 27, the K75.B07 students visited and worked with An Khe-Ka Nak Hydropower Company (under Vietnam Electricity Group). Receiving the delegation were Mr. Nguyen Minh Khu - Party Secretary, Director of the Company, along with representatives of departments, workshops and mass organizations of the unit.
At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Minh Khu briefly introduced the formation, development and performance of An Khe-Ka Nak Hydropower Company. Currently, the Company is managing and operating 2 hydropower plants with a total capacity of 173 MW, with an average electricity output of more than 600 million kWh per year. The Company plays an important role in ensuring energy security, sustainable development of the electricity industry, proactively responding to natural disasters, protecting the environment and promoting digital transformation towards a smart factory model.
The trainees exchanged and discussed with the Company's representatives on the topic "Ensuring energy security and sustainable development of hydropower in the current period." Opinions focused on contents such as digital transformation, clean energy investment, environmental impact and green development goals.
Speaking at the working session, Dr. Do Van Quan assessed that the research topic of the class was very practical, associated with the implementation of Resolution No. 70-NQ/TW dated August 20, 2025 on ensuring national energy security until 2030, with a vision to 2045. Practical activities help students supplement their knowledge, raise awareness and responsibility in the process of advising and planning policies for green and sustainable economic development.
At the end of the working session, comrade Nguyen Minh Khu expressed his hope that the two sides would continue to strengthen exchanges and share experiences in the field of renewable energy, contributing to the goal of sustainable development and modernization of the electricity sector and the country./.
