On January 8th, the Standing Committee of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Association of Elderly People held a conference to summarize the work of 2024 and implement tasks for 2025.
The Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of Elderly People presented the Flag of Excellence for leading the Emulation Cluster No. 5, North Central region, in the "Elderly - Shining Examples" movement in 2024 to the Thanh Hoa Provincial Association of Elderly People.
In 2024, the Elderly Associations at all levels closely followed the province's political tasks and effectively implemented their work. Patriotic emulation movements among the elderly continued to be promoted. The Elderly Associations at all levels admitted nearly 21,991 new members, bringing the total number of members to 493,808. The celebration of birthdays and longevity for the elderly was organized solemnly and thoughtfully by the Elderly Associations at all levels, with 68,870 elderly people receiving congratulations and birthday wishes. During holidays, Tet (Lunar New Year), and the Month of Action for the Elderly in Vietnam, the Elderly Associations at all levels presented gifts to 48,188 elderly people in difficult circumstances, totaling over 13.3 billion VND.
Chairman of the Provincial Association of Elderly People, Nguyen Duc Thang, delivered the opening speech at the conference.
Healthcare for the elderly continued to be promoted, with over 211,700 elderly people receiving health care education and awareness programs; more than 358,250 elderly people having health check-up records created; 338,258 elderly people receiving regular health check-ups; 214,806 elderly people receiving free eye examinations; and 20,897 elderly people being encouraged and supported to purchase health insurance, with 481,236 out of 548,914 elderly people having health insurance, achieving a rate of 88%.
In addition, the NCT (National Committee for the Elderly) in the province always sets a good example, actively participating in economic development; building new rural areas and civilized urban areas; building cultural life in residential areas, building cultural families and model families; and building a clean and strong political system.

The Provincial Association of Elderly People has exceeded its targets and plans for expanding the model of intergenerational self-help clubs. Currently, the province has over 1,220 intergenerational self-help clubs, leading the country in the number of clubs.

With its achievements, in 2024, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Association of Elderly People was awarded the Flag of Excellence for leading the emulation cluster No. 5 in the North Central region by the Central Association of Elderly People of Vietnam in the "Elderly - Shining Examples" movement.
On this occasion, many collectives and individuals were awarded Emulation Flags and Certificates of Merit from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of Elderly People; and Certificates of Commendation from the Provincial Association of Elderly People for their outstanding achievements in the patriotic emulation movement "Elderly People - Shining Examples" in 2024.
