The press is also one of the leading forces in the fight against negativity, corruption, waste, "self-evolution", "self-transformation"; protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints, protecting national sovereignty and interests. In particular, in difficult times such as natural disasters, epidemics, such as the Covid-19 pandemic, the press has clearly demonstrated its bravery, regardless of danger, to convey accurate and timely information, contributing to orienting public opinion, stabilizing social spirit and effectively supporting the work of preventing and fighting the epidemic. From an organization with a few hundred initial members, the Association now has more than 26,300 members, operating in 63 provincial and municipal journalist associations, 21 inter-associations, and 223 affiliated associations. The network of activities is increasingly professional and extensive, demonstrating its core role in building a healthy and humane press environment.
Entering a new development period with the requirement of comprehensive digital transformation, the Association has been implementing many key tasks: organizing training and professional development for reporters in the digital age; enhancing the application of new media technology; focusing on training professional ethics; building a team of journalists who are "both red and professional". Strengthening international cooperation, proactively integrating with regional and world press; absorbing the quintessence of human culture to improve the quality, level and mettle of the country's press.
At the ceremony, the Vietnam Journalists Association summarized and evaluated the results of activities at all levels in 2024, deployed key tasks in 2025, in which the theme of activities for 2025 was determined: "Vietnam Journalists Association unanimously serves the Fatherland, serves the People: Solidarity - Discipline - Professionalism - Creativity". Continuing to implement the Resolution of the 11th Congress of the Vietnam Journalists Association, at the same time discussing and agreeing on solutions to overcome difficulties to improve the quality and efficiency of operations and promote the role and position of the association at all levels in the process of implementing Resolution 18 on continuing to innovate, arrange and organize the apparatus of the political system to be streamlined, operate effectively and efficiently, associated with the implementation of Directive 43-CT/TW of the Central Party Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership over the activities of the Vietnam Journalists Association in the new situation.

Proactively organize activities to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025) in a solemn and practical manner, creating an impression and strongly spreading in society about the glorious historical tradition, the role, position and mission of Vietnam's revolutionary press in the coming revolutionary period.
