Sharing insights on the development of agriculture in Cuba, Comrade Félix Duarte Ortega stated that we often locate research institutes in provinces with strong agricultural development. For example, research institutes for cigars, potatoes, pineapples, cocoa, etc. Currently, our country is focusing on innovation and communication. In particular, the role of collaboration between the party, government, research institutes, and the people is increasingly being enhanced.
According to Comrade Félix Duarte Ortega, Cuba currently has 53 universities and hundreds of research institutes. With the strong determination of scientists and farmers, despite the lack of machinery, supplies, and fertilizers due to the embargo, we will strive to master agricultural production to improve the country's situation in the future. "During the Covid-19 pandemic, despite being surrounded by embargoes and lacking raw materials, our team of scientists still managed to produce vaccines to support other countries. This is proof of our efforts," Comrade Félix Duarte Ortega affirmed.
