On January 18th, Thao Dan Children's Social Welfare Center and ASIF Australia Limited - the Vietnamese International Charitable Foundation (ASIF) officially signed a cooperation agreement for the project "Enhancing Comprehensive and Sustainable Learning Capacity for Students with Special Circumstances."
In Phase 1, the project will provide scholarships to 400 underprivileged students living in Ho Chi Minh City between now and 2026.
Specifically, the project will be implemented through a model of intervention that accompanies students until they are ready to enter adulthood. Accordingly, students will not only receive educational support but also medical care, psychological counseling, vocational training, additional cultural and foreign language education, and life skills training… to help children develop comprehensively.
Through the Thao Dan Children's Social Welfare Center, ASIF will provide scholarships to students from disadvantaged families, such as abandoned children, orphans, street children, etc., who face the risk of having their education interrupted due to difficult circumstances.

"We will support students in special circumstances from the time they receive scholarships until they pursue vocational training, further education, college, university... until they reach adulthood and enter the workforce, ensuring they don't have to drop out midway."
"We hope that with the excellent educational methods of the Thao Dan Children's Social Welfare Center and the management methods of ASIF, the project will be successful, bringing many valuable benefits to the future of children with special circumstances, and contributing to building a better society," shared Mr. Cao Tien Vi - Founder of the ASIF Foundation.
According to the ASIF fund, after the successful completion of phase 1, the project will continue with subsequent phases with the hope of contributing to giving children in special circumstances more opportunities for a better future.
Ngoc Tai, a student who has received support from the Thao Dan Children's Social Welfare Center for 12 years, from the age of 10 to the present, said: "This project is a precious gift to many children with special circumstances like me. Honestly, without the support of the government and the center, I wouldn't be where I am today. I hope that many more children with special circumstances will also be given more opportunities."
According to the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, Ho Chi Minh City has many children in special circumstances. Although agencies, departments, and child protection facilities have done a lot to care for and help these children, there is still a great need for projects to further improve their lives.
