Cooperation to support students in especially difficult circumstances

400 students with special circumstances in Ho Chi Minh City will be granted comprehensive and sustainable academic scholarships, starting from 2025.

On January 18, Thao Dan Children's Social Protection Center and ASIF AUSTRALIA LIMITED - Vietnamese International Volunteer Fund (ASIF) officially signed a cooperation agreement on the project "Improving comprehensive and sustainable learning capacity for students in special circumstances."

In phase 1, the project will provide scholarships to 400 students with special circumstances living in Ho Chi Minh City from now until 2026.

In particular, the project will be implemented through an intervention model that accompanies students until they are qualified to enter adulthood. Accordingly, students will not only receive educational support but also medical care, psychological counseling, vocational training, cultural and foreign language training, life skills training, etc. to help children develop comprehensively.

Through Thao Dan Children's Social Protection Center, ASIF will provide scholarships to students with special family circumstances, such as abandoned children, children who have lost their parents, children who work on the streets... facing the risk of having their studies interrupted due to difficult circumstances...

"We will accompany students in special circumstances from the time they receive scholarships until they learn a trade, transfer to college, university... until they reach adulthood, not leaving them halfway through.

We hope that with the good educational method of Thao Dan Children's Social Protection Center and the management method of ASIF, the project will be successful, bringing many values ​​to the future of children in special circumstances, contributing to building a better society," said Mr. Cao Tien Vi - Founder of ASIF Fund.

According to ASIF, after successfully completing phase 1, the project will continue to implement the next phases with the hope of contributing to giving children in special circumstances more opportunities for a better future.

Ngoc Tai, a student who has been supported by Thao Dan Children's Social Protection Center for 12 years, since he was 10 years old, said: "The project is a precious gift for many children in special circumstances like me. Truly, without the support of the government, the center... I would not be where I am today. I hope that many children in special circumstances will also be given more opportunities."

According to the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, Ho Chi Minh City has many children with special circumstances. Although the agencies and child protection facilities have done a lot to care for and help them, there is still a great need for projects to help improve their lives.
