Mountainous district spends 17 billion VND to build headquarters, but stops after design is completed

(NLDO) - Only one step away from starting construction, the 17 billion VND project of the Minh Hoa District People's Committee headquarters ( Quang Binh ) had to be temporarily suspended.

On March 8, the People's Committee of Minh Hoa district (Quang Binh province) announced that it had just decided to temporarily suspend the construction of the district People's Committee headquarters according to the direction of the Provincial People's Committee on reviewing and temporarily suspending investment in new construction, repair, renovation, and upgrading of working headquarters at district and commune level units.

Accordingly, the Minh Hoa District People's Committee headquarters project has a total investment of 17 billion VND, and has now completed the design phase. The temporary suspension of construction is to implement the policy of comprehensively reviewing projects under the administrative management of the district level. The leader of the People's Committee of this district - said that the locality will soon have a report to the People's Committee of Quang Binh province on the status of the projects in the area.

Not only Minh Hoa, leaders of the People's Committees of other districts in Quang Binh province are also urgently reviewing and directing the District Finance Department to temporarily stop allocating capital for investment projects and building working headquarters as required by the Provincial People's Committee.

Previously, the People's Committee of Quang Binh province issued a document directing localities and departments, branches and sectors in the area to review and temporarily suspend the implementation of construction projects for agency headquarters under the management of district and commune levels. According to the plan, the review results must be reported to the provincial Department of Finance for synthesis and submission to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and decision.

This policy is aimed at optimizing the budget, avoiding scattered investment and improving the efficiency of using financial resources in the context of prioritizing other urgent tasks in the province.
