According to the report of Quan Son District People's Committee, due to the impact of storm No. 4 and the post-storm circulation causing heavy rain, many landslides and rockfalls occurred in this district.

On the hill in Cha Khot village, Na Meo commune, many cracks appeared from the beginning of the village to the end of the village (about 300m), 50-70cm wide, nearly 2m deep in some places, affecting the school, cultural house and 55 households with 220 people in the area.

According to the authorities' forecast, in the coming time, if it rains, the crack will widen, the risk of landslides into residential areas, causing collapse of houses and construction works is inevitable.

In addition to the above location, a crack running through the residential area of Muong village (Trung Xuan commune, Quan Son district), on the left bank of Lo river, also forced 43 households with 179 people to evacuate urgently.

The Command Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention - Search and Rescue - Civil Defense of Quan Son district directed the evacuation of all high-risk households to safe places (some households live with other families, some are supported by local people to build temporary huts); households are not confident about returning to their old places of residence and want to be resettled.

To ensure the safety of households in Cha Khot village (Na Meo commune) and Muong village (Trung Xuan commune), Quan Son district People's Committee submitted to Thanh Hoa provincial People's Committee to issue an emergency situation and order to urgently build a concentrated resettlement area for households in the above two villages with a total cost of nearly 86 billion VND.

Of which, the resettlement area for Muong village people has a total cost of 32.4 billion VND, located in Phun village, Trung Xuan commune, Quan Son district; the resettlement area for Cha Khot village people has a total cost of 47.5 billion VND, located in Cha Khot village, Na Meo commune, Quan Son district.
