According to a report from the People's Committee of Quan Son district, due to the impact of typhoon No. 4 and its aftermath causing heavy rain, many landslides and rockfalls occurred in the district.
On the hilltop in Cha Khot village, Na Meo commune, numerous long cracks have appeared, stretching from one end of the village to the other (approximately 300m), 50-70cm wide, and nearly 2m deep in some places, affecting the school, the cultural center, and 55 households with 220 residents in the area.

According to official forecasts, if it rains in the coming period, the cracks will widen, and the risk of landslides into residential areas, causing houses and other buildings to collapse, is unavoidable.
In addition to the aforementioned location, a crack running through the residential area of Muong village (Trung Xuan commune, Quan Son district), on the left bank of the Lo River, also forced 43 households with 179 people to evacuate urgently.

The Quan Son District Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue, and Civil Defense Command directed the evacuation of all high-risk households to safe locations (some households shared accommodation with other families, some were assisted by villagers in building temporary shelters); the households were uneasy about returning to their old homes and wished to be resettled.
To ensure the safety of households in Cha Khot village (Na Meo commune) and Muong village (Trung Xuan commune), the Quan Son District People's Committee submitted a request to the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee to issue an emergency situation declaration and an order for the emergency construction of a concentrated resettlement area for households in the two aforementioned villages, with a total budget of nearly 86 billion VND.
Specifically, the resettlement area for the people of Muong village has a total budget of 32.4 billion VND, located in Phun village, Trung Xuan commune, Quan Son district; the resettlement area for the people of Cha Khot village has a total budget of 47.5 billion VND, located in Cha Khot village, Na Meo commune, Quan Son district.
