As of 4:30 p.m. today (May 16), the Vietnamese Sports Delegation has won 8 more Gold Medals on the final day of competition at the 32nd SEA Games, thereby officially reaching the milestone of 132 Gold Medals to firmly consolidate the No. 1 position on the overall rankings.

Accordingly, the 130th Gold Medal was won by Kick-boxer Nguyen Xuan Phuong in the men's full contact under 60kg event, after he won against a Laotian boxer in the final match this afternoon. Following that, the Vietnamese Judo athletes continued to win the Gold Medal in the team event when they defeated Thailand with a score of 4-3 after 7 intense matches, bringing the 131st Gold Medal to the Vietnamese delegation. Not stopping there, Vietnam continued to have the 132nd Gold Medal thanks to the 12 Crews (U24) men's and women's rowing team in the 800m event after defeating Thailand. After 2 rounds, the team achieved a total time of 7 minutes 45 seconds 135, thereby bringing the latest Gold Medal to the Vietnamese delegation. Previously, weightlifting , dancesport, wrestling and fencing athletes also wrote their names on the Vietnam delegation's gold medal list with valuable Gold Medals. Thus, as of 4:30 p.m. on May 16, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation has reached 132 Gold Medals at the 32nd SEA Games to firmly consolidate its leading position in the medal tally, with a considerable distance from the Thai Delegation.

Having just reached the milestone of 100 Gold Medals, the Thai delegation ranked second but the gap with the Vietnamese delegation has widened to 32 Gold Medals. Therefore, it is almost certain that Vietnamese Sports will end the 32nd SEA Games with the overall first place after the last official competition day today. It is expected that the achievements of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation will continue to be improved when we still have athletes competing in many final events this afternoon.
