iPhone 16 series officially launched in Vietnam, which version is 'sold out'?

In the early hours of September 27th, mobile phone retailers in Vietnam officially began delivering the first batch of pre-ordered iPhone 16 series units. Like every year, some versions of the iPhone 16 Pro Max quickly sold out.

This year also marks the first time since the iPhone 12 series went on sale at midnight instead of 6 AM as usual. Therefore, starting last night (September 26th), many customers who pre-ordered have been waiting at stores to receive their devices.

Due to the high number of pre-orders, many customers had to wait 2-3 hours before it was their turn to receive their devices.

According to representatives of the CellphoneS chain of stores, as of September 26th, the system recorded nearly 30,000 interested customers and 10,000 successful pre-orders for the iPhone 16 series, representing a growth of nearly 70% compared to the previous generation.

Of those, the most expensive device – the iPhone 16 Pro Max – accounted for nearly 60% of the total orders. The iPhone 16 Pro series accounted for approximately 30% of the total orders.

For the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, they accounted for approximately 10% of the total pre-orders. Of these, the iPhone 16 Plus accounted for about 5%. Customers choosing both the regular and Plus versions showed strong interest in the Rose Gold and Blue colors, with almost equal choices for 128GB and 256GB storage options.

According to a representative from CellphoneS, like every year, some versions will still sell out quickly in the first batch of deliveries. This year, the iPhone 16 Pro/Pro Max in Desert Titanium also sold out early after pre-orders opened. Despite this, the company still managed to deliver over 2,500 units to customers who pre-ordered in the first batch.

"It is expected that after 2-3 weeks of the official launch, the goods will be replenished and customers will be able to purchase these popular models more easily," this person said.

Meanwhile, a representative from Viettel Store stated that the system expects to successfully deliver 16,000 devices to pre-ordered customers on the first day. Viettel Store has recorded 50,000 pre-orders and 35,000 deposits since September 20th.

TopZone's system expects to deliver over 20,000 devices on the first day and 10,000 devices in the following days. Specifically, the two TopZone APR stores in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi recorded 3,000 devices delivered directly on the opening night.

Reportedly, during the initial launch, retailers also offered many promotions when purchasing the iPhone 16. For example, at CellphoneS, there was a trade-in discount of up to 5 million VND, and a discount of up to 2 million VND when paying via bank credit card or linked e-wallet. They also offered 0% interest installment plans with no extra fees and no down payment. In addition, this retailer also offered discounts on some accessories.
