Previously, at 6:30 a.m. on June 13, a subsidence occurred at this location with a length of about 70m and a depth of 50-70cm. By June 14, the above embankment had completely collapsed; at the same time, cracks appeared in the yard of the house about 5-10m from the edge of the embankment, the width of the cracks was 1-2cm, the landslide area appeared to have a deep slide arc and was larger than 10m, with the risk of further landslides occurring deep into the residential area.

Faced with this situation, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just given instructions on how to handle the incident. Accordingly, the Department of Maritime and Waterways Region III is requested to support and coordinate with relevant departments and agencies to regulate, divert and limit the speed of vehicles participating in waterway traffic when passing through the landslide area to minimize the pressure of water waves and reduce the risk of further landslides while relevant units are handling the incident. The People's Committee of Cu Chi district has directed units to continue monitoring the subsidence and landslide situation in the area, take timely reinforcement measures and warn and notify people and vehicles not to enter or exit the area to ensure safety.
