Urgently handle landslides at the resettlement area of Dam Rong 4 commune

Dung K'No 5 resettlement area has a scale of 15 hectares, total investment capital of 38 billion VND, completed phase 1 (2018-2020) and handed over land to 73 households to build houses and stabilize their lives.

Phase 2 is being implemented with items such as leveling the ground, building roads, drainage ditches, electricity, water and lighting systems, with a cost of about 24 billion VND.

However, since the rainy season of 2025, the landslide situation has become serious. The most serious landslide section is about 80m long, directly affecting 5 households. Many outbuildings have tilted or been swept down to the foot of the slope.

In addition, 4 other houses also showed signs of subsidence and cracked walls. The main cause was determined to be that the residential area is located on a steep hill, the earthen foundation is easily softened by water during heavy rains, leading to landslides.

Implementing the direction of the Provincial People's Committee on November 11, 2025 on landslides at the resettlement project of Dung K'No 5, Dam Rong 4 commune, the Management Board of Construction Investment Project No. 1 requested the Management Board of Construction Investment Project of Lac Duong area to urgently implement a number of contents: Preside over the review of all design documents, evaluate the current status of the project, thereby proposing solutions to ensure anti-slide and report to competent authorities for handling policies according to regulations; Have solutions to ensure immediate and long-term safety for the project, ensuring safety for people during construction.

In the implementation process, if there are any difficulties or problems, the Lac Duong Area Construction Investment Project Management Board is requested to report to relevant units for synthesis and submission to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and decision.

Previously, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee had directed relevant departments, branches and localities to urgently handle the situation. The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Construction to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the Department of Finance, the Project Management Board and the People's Committee of Dam Rong 4 Commune to inspect and assess the current situation, propose a solution and assign the People's Committee of Dam Rong 4 Commune to closely monitor, install warning signs, barriers and arrange forces to be on duty 24/7 in dangerous areas, especially during the rainy season. People are strictly prohibited from living or traveling in high-risk areas; urgently evacuate 9 out of 15 households directly affected to safe locations, ensuring essential living conditions. If people do not comply, coercive measures will be applied to ensure safety.
