Inauguration of the "National Flag Avenue," scholarships awarded to underprivileged students in Dong Nai.

(NLĐO) - The Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper collaborated in organizing the inauguration of the "National Flag Road" and awarding 40 scholarships to poor students in Dong Nai .


On December 28th, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Nai province, the People's Committee of Bien Hoa city, and the Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper jointly organized the inauguration ceremony of the "National Flag Road" project in Tan Hanh ward and awarded "Scholarships to support ethnic minority and poor students" to students in Dong Nai province.

At the ceremony, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper presented 1,100 national flags out of a total of 10,000 flags that the newspaper had donated to Dong Nai province on the occasion of the launch of the Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper's Southeast Region Representative Office in October 2023.

Mr. Bui Thanh Nam, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Nai province, said that the "National Flag Road" project by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper and the donation of 1,100 flags to the People's Committee of Bien Hoa City is a very meaningful activity to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2025) and the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term.

According to the Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Nai province, the "National Flag Road" project also contributes to creating a dignified appearance, bringing aesthetic beauty, thereby arousing patriotism and encouraging the spirit of unity in building Tan Hanh ward (Bien Hoa city) into an increasingly prosperous and beautiful place.

Through this activity, the leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism requested the locality to continue strengthening propaganda work to enhance national pride, patriotic traditions, and the sense of responsibility of each citizen; to educate generations, especially the young generation of today and tomorrow, to better understand the profound and sacred meaning of the national flag. Regularly inspect and promptly replace faded or damaged flags to ensure solemnity and aesthetics; and continue to research and expand the "National Flag Street" model in the locality in the future.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, Head of the Events and Brand Development Department of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, said that to date, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper has donated and signed agreements to donate 2,135,320 flags to many provinces and cities nationwide. Today, the "National Flag Road" project was inaugurated on Bui Huu Nghia and Pham Van Dieu streets (Tan Hanh ward) with the aim of contributing to creating a dignified and beautiful appearance for local roads, and at the same time encouraging people to donate national flags during holidays and Tet celebrations to commemorate major national holidays.

In addition, the newspaper awarded 40 scholarships (2 million VND each) from the "Scholarship Program to Support Ethnic Minority and Poor Students" managed by the Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper to students in Dong Nai province. These scholarships are part of the 50 scholarships the Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper awarded to Dong Nai province on the occasion of the launch of its Southeast Region Representative Office in October 2023.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Tam, a resident of Ward 1 (Tan Hanh Ward), shared that the "National Flag Street" project inaugurated today not only creates a unique beauty, demonstrating the spirit of unity and determination to build a clean, beautiful, and civilized city, but also has a particularly important meaning, contributing to the dissemination and education of officials, union members, youth, and citizens to understand the sacred value and feel more proud of the national flag.

"Through this activity, I believe that all residents in the area will respond and simultaneously deploy flag-lined streets along the roads leading into residential areas, creating a memorable impression during national holidays. I and the people of Tan Hanh ward would like to thank the meaningful program of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper," Mr. Tam expressed.

As one of 40 students receiving scholarships from the "Scholarship Program to Support Ethnic Minority and Poor Students," Hoang Hoai Nuong (born in 2007, Vinh Cuu High School) was moved: "I am very happy to receive this scholarship, because it is a very meaningful gift, both spiritually and materially, that helps me overcome difficulties to excel in my studies and become a public citizen for society. I would like to thank the program for its meaningful support for difficult circumstances like mine," Nuong said.

It is known that Nương's parents are both factory workers, and her family is in difficult circumstances, but she constantly strives to excel in her studies. Nương also has a younger brother.
