Resounding victories from the Central Highlands

In the joyful atmosphere of the 2025 exam season, Gia Lai has created proud marks on the national technology education map. At the Viettel 2025 World Office Informatics Championship, students from this province won 2 Second Prizes, 5 Third Prizes and 6 Consolation Prizes, and 4 candidates advanced to the National Finals - the second highest number in the Central Highlands region.

The impressive achievements do not stop there. Vo Dang Tue, a student at Chi Lang High School, won third prize at the National Artificial Intelligence Olympic Competition for Students (VOAI 2025).

In particular, three 5th grade students of Sao Viet Inter-level School - Rcom Nay H Srina, Dong Anh Lan and Vo Thien Lam - created a miracle when their project "SnapFood - Health Assistant" officially represented Vietnam to participate in the international round of the CODEAVOUR 6.0 International AI & STEM Innovation Competition in Qatar from May 16 - 17, 2025.

Chi Lang High School has affirmed its position not only through its academic achievements but also through its progressiveeducational vision. To prepare for the competitions, the school has developed an early and systematic review plan, with a personalized learning path for each student. That is the important link for a school in the Central Highlands to have the opportunity to reach out to the world.

In particular, the school has invested heavily in the field of robotics, with the practice room being dubbed "the most expensive room in the school". The school's VEX Robotics Club not only attracts male students, but the school also empowers female students to demonstrate their abilities. The story of Nguyen Phuc Bao Tram - a female student who was initially hesitant about participating in robotics, but eventually became a confident and excellent member of the team, is clear evidence that STEM is no longer a big barrier for female students.

With a creative mindset, the school has achieved impressive results. At Sao Viet School, the fact that 5th graders can create complex AI applications such as "SnapFood - Health Assistant" - an application that uses artificial intelligence to identify food, calculate calories and suggest diets - is a clear demonstration of the school's quality of STEM education.

This project not only demonstrates the ability to apply technology but also shows the awareness of community health of students. A product "made by kids" but of international stature, combining technology, health and education.

Sao Viet Inter-level School with an educational model from kindergarten to high school has created a complete educational ecosystem. The school pays special attention to investing in the students in the team participating in the competition, building a specific and scientific review plan. Students are reviewed using the Gmetrix MOS international office IT certification review and exam preparation tool, under the guidance of teachers with all MOS 365 Apps version certificates.

It is worth noting that the school has invited experts to support students in reviewing and promoting the activities of the IT club, creating an environment for students to practice and develop together.

One of the highlights of Sao Viet School is the application of the GrapeSEED program - a natural English learning method for children. In Gia Lai, Sao Viet School is a rare address implementing this program with a tuition fee of 1.3 million VND/month - which has been supported by the school to reduce at least 50%.

The GrapeSEED program is designed to help students develop a natural "language zone." After UNIT 16 (after 3 years), students can take the Movers certification exam, after UNIT 21 they can take the Flyers exam, and by grade 6 they can use English as a second language.

"In my opinion, students should learn English from a young age and learn naturally because young people need to learn many things. If they learn naturally, it takes a process and time for them to form a 'language area'. With GrapeSEED, I see that it meets all those requirements!", the school representative shared.

Dare to challenge, dare to go beyond the "safe zone"

What sets these two schools apart is their educational philosophy, which encourages students to "dare to challenge themselves and go beyond their comfort zone." Instead of focusing solely on the core curriculum, the schools have created opportunities for students to participate in domestic and international competitions.

"Always encourage children to boldly participate in competitions at home and abroad. The more students participate, the better. The results will be calculated later. The most important thing is that the children have experience," said a representative of Sao Viet School.

Therefore, in addition to the main curriculum, the movement to study subjects such as STEM-robotics, Mathematical thinking, and foreign languages at the two schools is developing strongly in both quantity and quality.

The success of these two schools is not only meaningful to Gia Lai but also contributes to affirming the creative capacity of Gia Lai students as well as the Central Highlands. In the context of global integration, office computer skills, English and STEM thinking have become essential skills that students and workers must have.

Mr. Ha Dai Nghia emphasized: "Proficiency in office computer skills not only helps students study effectively, but also prepares them for university and gives them an advantage when they go to work."

The Viettel World Office Informatics Championship has brought opportunities to access international standard office informatics skills for students across the country, especially in remote areas and areas with many limitations in accessing information technology.

Nguyen Phuc Bao Tram's story - from a shy girl at first participating in robotics to becoming a confident member of the team - carries a strong message about gender equality in STEM education.

"VEX Robotics not only helps me build robots, but also builds me into a more confident girl, daring to dream, daring to challenge and daring to conquer seemingly impossible things," Bao Tram shared.

With their achievements and vision for sustainable development, Chi Lang High School and Sao Viet Inter-level School are affirming that high-quality education is not only the privilege of big cities. From the Central Highlands, students are confidently stepping out into the world, bringing with them knowledge and skills to compete in the international arena.

This success is not only the pride of Gia Lai but also a testament to the fact that with the right vision, appropriate investment and dedication of the teaching staff, Vietnamese education can absolutely achieve proud achievements in the international arena.

These victories are just the beginning of a long journey ahead, when the generation of Gia Lai students will continue to affirm their talent and position on the world education map.
