In the cozy art space of the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum, 76 emotional and colorful paintings by young artists have attracted the attention of a large audience of art lovers. The exhibition “Colorful Journey – Connecting Dreams” is an art exhibition of the teacher and students of “Doodle Art Studio”, this is one of the few exhibitions organized exclusively for children artists.
According to artist Dao Hai Phong, in a developing society, children also need to be given the opportunity to express themselves and be taken seriously, especially in art. Art is no longer the privilege of adults, but is gradually becoming a natural language of expression, close to children - where they have the right to "grow up" with their own thoughts and emotions.

Works: Self-reliance; Self-awareness; Maturity (from left to right) - Author: Nguyen Ngoc Nam Khue
Among the participating authors, Nguyen Ngoc Nam Khue – currently living and studying in the US – impressed with a series of 12 works revolving around the themes of homeland, family and nature. Each stroke of Khue’s drawings expressed deep emotions and a subtle inner world , far beyond his age.
Nam Khue shared: “I am very grateful and proud that my work has been honored to be displayed at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum. This is also the motivation for me to continue creating and pursuing my passion for painting.”
Artist Dao Hai Phong - Art Advisor of the exhibition, could not hide his surprise and delight when admiring the works performed by the "child artists". "I was really surprised by the maturity and clear aesthetic taste in the paintings of the children. That is a positive sign showing that they have a very good aesthetic perception" - Artist Dao Hai Phong commented.
It can be seen that, in addition to cultural studies, the development of children's artistic talents also needs to be given due attention. In the current context, when the art playground for children is still quite limited, events such as the exhibition "Colorful Journey - Connecting Dreams" have special meaning. Not only is it a place for children to show off their painting talents, the exhibition is also a space for them to release their emotions, nurture their souls and find joy in life.
Mr. Pham Son Ha - a parent whose child participated in the exhibition, shared: "I realize that in today's society, children have a lot of emotions, so I always support children expressing their inner feelings through drawings. I am very happy that my children have a proper playground, especially in the current context when children have many different choices and interests."

Teacher Nguyen Ky - Head of "Doodle Art Studio" shares her thoughts at the exhibition opening ceremony
Teacher Nguyen Ky - Head of the Scribble Art Studio added: “Teaching art or organizing art projects and events does not aim to train pure artists, but more deeply, we are the ones who open up thinking, inspire awareness of beauty, help children form a unique, positive and profound aesthetic perspective. From that foundation, when they grow up, they can pursue any career, not necessarily the path of painting, but always carry within them knowledge of aesthetics, humanity and responsibility to the community”.
At the exhibition, many children were very excited to participate in the community workshop called “Color Streaks on Plastic Waves 2”. This is an extension of the displayed works to a real-life experience, where viewers not only admire, but also “act together” with the children. Materials such as plastic bottles, straws, nylon bags, bottle caps, plastic spoons, etc. will become materials to create applied art products.

In order for children to have more useful art playgrounds, exhibitions such as "Colorful Journey - Connecting Dreams" need to be expanded and spread further, not only in the capital but also in many localities. When children's painting dreams take flight, it is also the time when the world of children opens up, with new, colorful and inspiring things. Nurturing emotions, creativity and aesthetic perspectives from an early age will contribute to forming people with depth, who know how to love, listen and live kindly. That is an important foundation for a humane society, where each child is free to explore themselves and nurture their dreams.
The exhibition “Color Journey – Connecting Dreams” will last from July 19, 2025 to July 21, 2025, at the Vietnam Museum of Fine Arts.
“Doodle Art Studio” was established in 2014, with teacher Nguyen Ky as the head teacher. The studio operates with the motto of bringing the art of painting closer to children, helping them unleash their creativity with their passion for fine arts; aesthetic appreciation, nurturing the beauty of a soaring, creative soul, knowing how to love nature, people, family and themselves. With the goal of taking students as the center, choosing a non-imposing educational method, teachers are always the companions who inspire children to express themselves, freely create and develop their emotions.
