TPO - Units of EVN Hanoi have conducted surveys and developed plans to underground the power lines on various streets. However, allocating funds for this undergrounding project is facing many difficulties.
The Hanoi People's Committee has recently issued a document responding to voters' requests regarding the development of a plan and roadmap for burying and addressing sagging electrical and telecommunication wires underground in the city. Simultaneously, the document outlines the placement and arrangement of electrical cabinets away from residential areas to ensure traffic safety, fire prevention, and urban aesthetics.
According to the Hanoi People's Committee, after receiving requests from voters, the Hanoi Electricity Corporation (EVNHANOI) has directed its subordinate electricity units to survey and develop plans for burying the power lines underground in the affected streets.
However, according to the Corporation's capital plan for the 2021-2025 period, approved by Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN), the focus is mainly on investing in the construction and development of the power grid, and funding for undergrounding projects is currently facing many difficulties.

Regarding the upgrading and clearing of sagging power lines, EVNHANOI will direct its units to proactively develop plans for rearranging power lines on routes requiring clearance and upgrading. As soon as funding is available, EVNHANOI will arrange to proceed with the upgrading and clearing of streets as requested.
