Prosecution of former ward chairman for assisting in appropriation of 53 plots of land

On September 28, the Investigation Police Agency of Bien Hoa City Police, Dong Nai Province issued a decision to prosecute Phan Thanh Sac, former Chairman of An Hoa Ward People's Committee, to investigate the act of taking advantage of his position and power while performing official duties.

Defendant Phan Thanh Sac was released on bail.

Initial information, around March 2021, Mr. Sac, in his role as ward chairman, together with ward cadastral officers, assisted a number of residents in making related documents to appropriate 53 plots of land (on map sheet No. 2, An Hoa commune, now An Hoa ward) from a number of other households.

After receiving information and investigating, the police agency determined the violation of this former officer and decided to prosecute the case and prosecute the accused.

In addition to Mr. Sac's role, the police are also continuing to expand the investigation of the case, determining the roles of other related people.
