Linking supply and consumption
At this time, the retail industry in Da Nang is facing a great opportunity to break through when the economy recovers strongly and the market continues to expand. According to statistics from the city's Department of Industry and Trade, total retail sales of goods in September reached VND 11,505 billion (up 17.1% over the same period), thereby, cumulative retail sales in 9 months reached VND 103,929 billion (up 17% over the same period in 2024).
The domestic market maintained a steady growth momentum. The supply of goods was abundant and prices were stable. Enterprises boosted production and business. Many commercial, cultural and tourism events held in the city contributed to stimulating consumption and promoting the development of the retail industry.
Entering October, total retail sales of goods increased by 15.3% over the same period in 2024. Cumulative retail sales in 10 months reached VND 114,744 billion, up 16.7% over the same period. Ms. Le Thi Kim Phuong, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, said that retail continues to affirm its key role in promoting consumption and making an important contribution to the city's service sector.
The supply of goods is abundant, prices are stable, and there are no unusual fluctuations. Trade and service activities are promoted through the organization of fairs and conferences to connect trade, promote trade, promote products, and expand the market for local businesses. The city's retail sales have maintained a stable growth momentum in the past 10 months, creating a positive foundation for production, business and consumption activities in the last months of the year. The supply of essential goods continues to be guaranteed.

It is worth noting that Da Nang's retail activities are not only measured by revenue growth, but more importantly by the resonance and trust between consumers and retailers.
Ms. Nguyen Ai Nghia (Xuyen Trung block, Hoi An ward) said: “If I need to buy traditional goods such as sedge mats, freshwater fish, vegetables and fruits, I go to the market. If I need to buy electronic goods, I go to shopping centers. If I want to buy convenient goods, I go to mini supermarkets and smart grocery stores. The goods are diverse, abundant, of good quality, reasonably priced and guaranteed brand and reputation.”
Ms. Mai, owner of a mini supermarket on Ly Thuong Kiet Street (Hoi An Ward) said: "In recent days, purchasing power has been abundant, especially for essential goods for daily consumption. Our promotional programs and consumer stimulus programs have been well received by consumers."

Diverse points of sale
In recent times, Da Nang city has developed a variety of retail types, harmoniously combining modern trade, traditional trade, and e-commerce. The city's industry and trade sector is advising the city's People's Committee to invest in building a new Con market, building Hoa Phuoc wholesale market, etc.
Da Nang has identified promoting the application of e-commerce in the retail sector as one of the key tasks to realize the goal of building a smart, modern and dynamic city. After expanding its administrative boundaries, the city has urgently required the application of digital technology in the retail sector. This is an important solution to adapt to new consumption trends, optimize the goods distribution system and strengthen the connection between manufacturers, retailers and consumers.
Recently, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 2326/QD-TTg approving the Strategy for developing the Vietnamese retail market to 2030, with a vision to 2050. The strategy aims to develop a civilized, modern, and sustainable retail market associated with domestic trade orientation, in line with the trend of digital, green, and shared economy. At the same time, the strategy aims to connect production with consumption, increase domestic purchasing power, and promote the consumption of Vietnamese goods.
This strategy is completely similar to the development orientation of Da Nang's trade sector. The city is focusing on strongly developing business types based on digital platforms. E-commerce, e-commerce platforms, and multi-channel retail methods are inevitable trends in Da Nang's retail industry to meet consumers' smart shopping needs.
Da Nang's commercial sector now has a full range of major retail brands such as Vincom Plaza Da Nang, Lotte Mart Da Nang, Indochina Riverside Mall, Helio Center, Go! Da Nang, Danavi Mart Da Nang, Co.opMart Da Nang...
The city’s sustainable and green retail industry will grow even stronger when the MM Mega Da Nang Super Center is expected to officially open in Hoa Khanh ward on November 17. This is the first “Super Center” model of MM Mega Market in Vietnam with a total investment of 20 million USD.
Many people expect a new wave of dynamic commercial investment to continue to open in Da Nang, creating an attractive destination and affirming the city's deeply integrated retail brand on the world trade map.
The highlight for retail activities in Da Nang city in the coming time is that the Department of Industry and Trade will organize the year-end promotion season Mega Sale Holiday, Da Nang product exhibition in 2025 (expected in December 2025).
Along with that are a variety of trade promotion programs, e-commerce, and promotion of Da Nang products associated with the implementation of the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods".
The Department of Industry and Trade continues to research and propose the establishment of a city-level display center for typical OCOP products; build an information channel and a series of videos introducing and promoting Da Nang OCOP products...
