On the evening of December 31st, at 30/10 Square, Ha Long City ( Quang Ninh province) solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its founding (December 27th, 1993 - December 27th, 2023) and to receive the First-Class Labor Medal.
In his speech reviewing 30 years of construction and development, Mr. Vu Quyet Tien, Secretary of the Ha Long City Party Committee, informed: Thirty years ago, on December 27, 1993, the Government issued a Decree on the establishment of Ha Long City in Quang Ninh province based on the administrative boundaries of Hong Gai town.

In response to the city's development needs and trends, on December 17, 2019, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly issued Resolution No. 837/NQ-UBTVQH14, which merged the entire Hoành Bồ district into Hạ Long City. This merger has opened up new development opportunities with a strategic vision, amplifying the potential and outstanding advantages, and further creating a solid foundation for building Hạ Long City into a multi-polar, civilized, and modern urban center.
Throughout its construction and development, Ha Long City has consistently adhered to the central government's guidelines and the direct leadership and direction of Quang Ninh province to proactively and creatively make appropriate decisions, strongly shifting its economic structure towards industrialization and modernization, with tourism and services as the spearhead, linked to sustainable development based on the pillars of nature, history, culture, and people.
To acknowledge the efforts and achievements made during the 30 years of construction and development, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the founding of Ha Long City, the President of Vietnam decided to award the First Class Labor Order to the Party Committee, government, military, and people of all ethnic groups in Ha Long City.

As part of the celebration, a spectacular art performance program with the theme "Ha Long - A Journey of Development - Aspiration and Prosperity" was held, consisting of four chapters: Ha Long - Land of Legends; Hong Gai - A Bright Hope; Ha Long - A Journey of Development; and Ha Long - Aspiration for Prosperity. The program featured musical works about the land and people of Ha Long throughout different periods, strung together as a proud melody celebrating the development of Ha Long City .
