On the evening of December 31, at October 30 Square, Ha Long City ( Quang Ninh Province) solemnly held the 30th Anniversary Ceremony (December 27, 1993 - December 27, 2023) and received the First Class Labor Medal.
In his speech reviewing the 30-year process of construction and development, Mr. Vu Quyet Tien - Secretary of Ha Long City Party Committee, informed: 30 years ago, on December 27, 1993, the Government issued a Decree on the establishment of Ha Long City in Quang Ninh province on the basis of the administrative boundaries of Hong Gai town.

In response to the city's development requirements and trends, on December 17, 2019, the National Assembly Standing Committee issued Resolution No. 837/NQ-UBTVQH14, merging the entire Hoanh Bo district into Ha Long City. The merger has opened up a new development space with a strategic vision, multiplying the strength of potential and outstanding advantages, continuing to create a solid foundation to build Ha Long City into a multi-polar, civilized and modern urban area.
During the process of construction and development, Ha Long City has always closely followed the policies of the Central Government, the leadership and direct direction of Quang Ninh province to be proactive, creative, have appropriate policies, strongly shift the economic structure towards industrialization and modernization, taking tourism and services as the spearhead, associated with sustainable development based on the pillars of nature - history - culture - people.
In recognition of the efforts and achievements during the 30 years of construction and development, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the founding of Ha Long City, the President decided to award the First Class Labor Medal to the Party Committee, government, army and people of all ethnic groups of Ha Long City.

Within the framework of the Anniversary Ceremony, a special art performance program took place with the theme "Ha Long - journey of development - aspiration, prosperity", including 4 chapters: Ha Long - legendary land; Hong Gai - bright belief; Ha Long - journey of development and Ha Long - aspiration for prosperity with musical works written about the land and people of Ha Long through the ages, strung together like a melody of pride in the development process of Ha Long City .
