High School Graduation Exam 2025: Difficult to predict Literature scores

On the morning of June 26, more than 22,000 candidates in the province completed the first exam - the Literature exam of the 2025 High School Graduation Exam (referred to as the Exam).

Literature is the only essay subject of the Exam, with a test time of 120 minutes.

The total number of candidates registered for the Literature exam was 22,404. On the morning of June 26, 22,280 candidates took the exam, reaching a rate of 99.45%, with 124 absent.

According to the assessment of candidates and teachers, the Literature exam according to the 2018 General Education Program (GEP) is quite good, the content of the exam is basically similar to the structure of the reference exam previously issued by the Ministry of Education and Training .

Accordingly, the exam structure has 2 parts: reading comprehension and writing. The materials used in the exam are outside the textbook. Candidates assessed that they did well on the test but it was difficult to predict the score because the exam structure was new, open-ended and this was the first time taking the exam according to the new program.

The exam according to the 2006 General Education Program also has 2 parts: reading comprehension and writing. The language materials in the exam are the content in the 12th grade Literature textbook according to the curriculum.

According to the Department of Education and Training, the first exam took place safely, seriously, and in accordance with regulations. Candidates were basically supported according to their needs.

Principal of Le Quy Don High School Le Thi Xuan Huong encouraged her students after the first exam on the morning of June 26.

At exactly 2:30 p.m. this afternoon (June 26), candidates took the Math test in multiple-choice format with a 90-minute test duration.
