Workshop "Work smart, spend wisely" on the morning of June 15, sharing the arising problems in making and spending money online, potential financial risks in online transactions... aiming at solutions to help users think about making money sustainably and managing spending. The workshop attracted many young people and people to participate.
This event is part of the "Cashless Day 2025" series of activities taking place in the center of Ho Chi Minh City.
Financial management is not about how much money you make.
During the exchange with the speaker within the program, a student asked a straightforward question: "I am a student who works part-time, and I earn 10% of what I earn each month and spend 9%. How can I manage my personal expenses more effectively, especially when everything feels necessary?"
Answering this question, Ms. Bui Thi Lien Huong, Head of Business Development, an expert with more than 10 years of experience in developing NAPAS's payment network, said that it is important to separate savings as soon as you receive income, instead of waiting to "save as much as you have left".

"As soon as you receive your salary, transfer a fixed portion into a savings account or investment channel. This will help you avoid overspending and form the habit of saving money before spending it," said Ms. Huong.
Meanwhile, content creator Ngoc Mai (Mia) shares a more disciplined way of spending money carefully, and clearly defining how much money she has to put into a savings fund each month....
Both speakers emphasized that financial management is not about how much you earn, but how much you keep, thereby creating a sustainable financial foundation in the long term, especially for young people who are new to work or freelance.
"Keep 2-3 million each month, how to make profit?"
Another student asked a practical question: "With an income of only about 2-3 million VND per month from part-time work, besides depositing it into an e-wallet, is there any way to make an effective profit?"
Answering this question, Mr. Le Hung Anh - founder and CEO of BIN Corporation said: at low income level, "making profit" financially is not the top priority. Instead, students should use that money to invest in themselves, which will bring long-term and more sustainable profits.
"The amount of 2-3 million per month is too small to generate investment profits in the traditional sense. But if you use it to buy books, learn skills, participate in thinking development courses or improve your working ability, then it is the smartest investment," Mr. Hung Anh shared.
He emphasized that young people should aim to expand their knowledge, skills and relationships in the early stages of their careers, especially during their student years.
"Instead of asking where to put this small amount of money, ask: how to use it to open up new opportunities. Career opportunities, opportunities for self-development, which will open up better income in the future," he said.
Mr. Hung Anh also pointed out: when you first start working, you like to invest in assets like cars, watches... but gradually you find that it is not really necessary. Therefore, he "advises" young people to gradually focus on investing in asset-generating portfolios such as houses, land, and stocks.
"Investing in consumption will be wasteful if we spend too much," Shark Le Hung Anh emphasized.
