During the program, the delegation offered flowers and incense at the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs of Me Island, a shrine to 16 martyrs of Military Region 4 who died while on duty in 2005.
With respect, the delegation observed a minute of silence to remember and pay tribute to the great contributions of the heroic martyrs who heroically sacrificed to protect Me Island and the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
Provincial Youth Union leaders presented gifts to officers and soldiers of Me Island.
At the meeting and exchange with the delegation, representatives of the Me Island Mixed Battalion gave an overview of the unit's combat, construction and growth process.
On behalf of the delegation, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union Le Van Chau congratulated the achievements that the unit has achieved in solidarity, efforts and striving in the past time. At the same time, he hoped that the officers and soldiers would always promote the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers, the heroic tradition of the unit, overcome all difficulties and challenges, complete all tasks assigned by the Party, State and People, and firmly protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the homeland.

On this occasion, Thanh Hoa Provincial Youth Union presented a youth sports project plaque worth 40 million VND and many meaningful gifts to the officers and soldiers of Me Island. These gifts represent the sentiments and responsibilities of Thanh Hoa youth, to encourage and motivate the officers and soldiers of Me Island to strive to successfully complete the assigned tasks at the "head of the waves and wind".
Also in the program, the Provincial Youth Union organized a cultural exchange night and campfire on the island. With many unique performances, the program left a deep impression, spreading the spirit of vanguard and responsibility of the youth for the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
Delegates participating in the "Youth Journey for the Homeland's Sea and Islands" took souvenir photos with officers and soldiers of the Me Island Mixed Battalion.
"Youth Journey for the Homeland's Sea and Islands" in 2025 is a meaningful activity of Thanh Hoa Provincial Youth Union, in response to the campaign of Border and Island Love in the period of 2023 - 2028.
The activity also aims to widely propagate and educate union members and young people about the strategic position and role of the sea and islands in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
