Listen and resolve difficulties for union members and workers

STO - As one of the key highlights of Workers' Month 2023, the meeting and dialogue between Soc Trang provincial leaders and workers is an opportunity for union members and workers to directly express their thoughts and aspirations to provincial leaders and provincial levels and sectors.

The 2023 meeting and dialogue between provincial leaders and workers was organized by the Soc Trang Provincial Labor Federation with the spirit of creating the best conditions for workers to boldly propose and recommend to provincial leaders problems and difficulties that need to be resolved. This year's meeting and dialogue took place in a lively atmosphere, demonstrating the spirit of listening, understanding and sharing with workers by the provincial leaders.

On behalf of the workers at the company, Mr. Phan Quoc Phong - a member of the Trade Union of Tai Kim Anh Seafood Processing Joint Stock Company proposed: "Currently, An Nghiep Industrial Park is far from the market. Therefore, we hope that agencies and departments at all levels will create conditions for the trade union to cooperate with businesses to open stores selling necessities for workers here. If workers can buy goods with clear origins and affordable prices, it will ensure health safety, peace of mind at work as well as be more suitable for the current living standards of workers."

According to Ms. Ly My Ai - a worker at Luckytex Soc Trang Limited Liability Company, currently, workers like her are looking forward to the social housing project to feel secure about their accommodation and save on rental costs. Therefore, at this dialogue session, Ms. Ai proposed to soon implement the construction of trade union institutions and social housing to help workers have a stable place to live, improve their health and feel secure in their work and production.

These were two of the opinions expressed to the leaders of the Provincial Party Committee and relevant departments and agencies at the dialogue conference. In an open atmosphere, the union members and workers of enterprises proposed many timely opinions that were of interest to the majority of workers in the province. Accordingly, issues of maintaining sustainable employment, increasing income, finding solutions to limit the situation of black credit among workers, policies on social insurance; medical examination and treatment, health insurance, etc. were frankly raised by many union members and workers. From there, the leaders of the Provincial Party Committee and relevant departments and agencies received opinions, understood and answered specifically and focused on the contents mentioned. At the same time, they analyzed more clearly the rights and responsibilities of employees and employers.

At the dialogue conference, comrade Ho Thi Cam Dao - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council acknowledged the contributions of the labor force in the past time. The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee called on union members and workers to continue promoting the spirit of enthusiasm and creativity in labor, actively competing in production. With the recommendations raised at the dialogue, comrade Ho Thi Cam Dao suggested that the Provincial Labor Federation synthesize the opinions and aspirations of workers and enterprises to send to competent authorities for attention to resolve and protect the legitimate interests of workers. Departments and branches need to promote investment attraction, call for investment, increase production and business, create jobs for union members and workers.

Regarding the construction of social housing, comrade Ho Thi Cam Dao said that this project has received attention from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and has had many working sessions with the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee. Provincial leaders always pay attention and direct relevant agencies to urgently carry out the remaining tasks to start the project. Comrade Ho Thi Cam Dao also suggested that the trade union coordinate with departments, branches, localities, and enterprises to build welfare supermarkets located in industrial parks. Authorities and unions at all levels in the province coordinate with credit institutions to disseminate credit policies to workers, creating conditions for workers to access support loans. Enterprises continue to comply with labor laws, implement salary and bonus policies, ensure the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers, and pay attention to improving the material and spiritual lives of workers. Union members, workers, civil servants and laborers need to actively produce, participate in patriotic emulation movements, promote dynamism and creativity, accompany businesses in difficult times, and build harmonious and progressive relationships in the workplace.

The meeting and dialogue helped leaders and authorities at all levels promptly and closely grasp the thoughts and aspirations of union members and workers. Thereby, timely proposing satisfactory solutions to build harmonious, stable, progressive labor relations and improve the material and spiritual life of union members and workers.
