The Lakers are the first champions of the NBA In-Season Tournament.
The NBA In-Season Tournament, officially announced in mid-2023, is a smaller, mid-season tournament. It was created to enhance the entertainment value of the NBA and provide a better experience for fans. The tournament follows a cup format, consisting of a group stage and a playoff round.
Thirty teams will participate, divided equally into six groups by regional draw (each group has five teams, and each team plays four matches). The top six teams from each group and the two best second-place teams (one from each region) will advance to the knockout stage. The semi-finals and final will be played on a neutral ground. Matches in the In-Season Tournament (except the final) will count as a ranking match in the Regular Season.
