Scenes from the ceremony to present financial support to families entitled to preferential policies.
The two families who received funding for building charitable houses this time are the family of Mr. Tran Van Cao (Van Phu commune, Nho Quan district) and Mr. Pham Huu Nhung (Khanh Thuong commune, Yen Mo district).
Mr. Tran Van Cao, born in 1950, is a disabled veteran (category 3/4) with 64% disability; Mr. Pham Huu Nhung, born in 1952, is a victim of chemical poisoning. Both were soldiers in Brigade 101, Region 4. Currently, their families live in an old, dilapidated house that is unsafe during the rainy season; their income mainly depends on disability benefits, so they face many difficulties. Mr. Nhung is also raising his disabled grandson.
Given the difficult circumstances of these families, Brigade 131 requested support of 80 million VND per family to build a new, more spacious house. The funding for this support was drawn from the Navy's "Gratitude and Repayment" Fund.
This is a practical and meaningful activity, demonstrating the principle of "drinking water, remembering the source" of the officers and soldiers of Brigade 131 towards the families of those who have rendered meritorious service to the revolution.
