At around 9 a.m. this morning (October 1st), while Mr. Moong Van Tu from Cha Ka 1 village, Bao Thang commune (Ky Son district) was going into the mountains to find a water source for the villagers, he heard a rumbling sound coming from the mountaintop.
Terrified, Mr. Tư ran away and discovered a torrent of mud, soil, and rocks cascading down like a waterfall onto the main road of Bảo Thắng commune. Realizing it was a flash flood, Mr. Tư ran while shouting for people to stay away.
The incident lasted about 5-7 minutes, sweeping away thousands of cubic meters of mud , soil, and rocks into the stream. Fortunately, the flash flood did not affect people or property.
In recent days, heavy rains have fallen in Bao Thang commune and Ky Son district, causing landslides on many roads.
