Mainoo is currently out of favor and no longer receives much support under coach Ruben Amorim.

According to The Athletic, this led to the 20-year-old midfielder announcing his desire to move to another club on loan in order to get more regular playing time.

In a recent meeting with Manchester United's leadership, Mainoo expressed his desire to be loaned out, believing it would be better for his career development.

However, the Manchester team is unlikely to accept the proposal, as their midfield is already fragile and lacks quality personnel.

Coach Ruben Amorim hopes his young protégé will stay and fight for a starting spot, even though he will be competing with captain Bruno Fernandes.

As for Mainoo, he hopes to play consistently enough to earn a place in the England squad for the 2026 World Cup.

The Carrington academy graduate featured in most of England's matches at Euro 2024, but has yet to be named in the squad under manager Thomas Tuchel.

Since the start of the season, Kobbie Mainoo hasn't played a single minute in two Premier League matches. In the Carabao Cup, he started but underperformed against Grimsby Town.
