According to statistics from the city's Departmentof Education and Training, in the 2024-2025 school year, there will be 8 schools and 1 private preschool, along with 16 independent preschools, attracting more than 2,000 children. This figure clearly reflects the growing role of the non-public preschool system in expanding the scale and diversifying the types of education in the locality.
The development of the private sector is not only reflected in quantity but also in quality. For example, Tuoi Tho Kindergarten (Tam Thanh Ward) is one of the typical examples of sustainable development. From a small group of children in 1996, the school now has 16 classes with nearly 400 children, 43 staff, teachers and employees; 100% of classrooms are equipped with cameras for parents and the school board to monitor and supervise daily activities. Classrooms are decorated in a "child-centered" direction, with full teaching aids, stimulating children's creativity and exploration . The rate of children meeting age-appropriate development requirements at the end of the first semester of the 2024-2025 school year is over 90%, a clear demonstration of the effectiveness of education at the school.
In the 2024-2025 school year, Lang Son city will have 8 schools and 1 private preschool, along with 16 independent preschools, attracting more than 2,000 children. |
Not only Tuoi Tho Kindergarten, many other private facilities in the area are also highly appreciated by parents. Ms. Dinh Thi Cham, Dong Kinh ward, shared: My two children both study at Happy School Kindergarten (Dong Kinh ward). Currently, the older child has entered primary school, and the younger child is 3 years old and is studying here. The school is close to home, the facilities are spacious, clean, and the teachers are dedicated and friendly. I feel secure because I can observe all my children's activities through the camera system in the classroom.
The quality of education at private institutions comes not only from the facilities, but also from the team of teachers with solid expertise, love for the job and dedication. Currently, 100% of managers and teachers at private schools meet professional standards. The institutions regularly organize professional activities, internal training and send teachers to attend all training courses organized by the Department of Education and Training. Ms. Tran Huong Thuy, a teacher at Happy School Kindergarten, said: We are encouraged to learn new educational methods and focus on applying methods such as Montessori, STEAM, organizing sample lessons, and experiential activities for children to develop comprehensively.
Along with that, private preschools also actively respond to emulation movements and professional competitions launched by the education sector. In the competition "Building a child-centered educational environment" for the 2023-2024 school year organized by the Department of Education and Training, 100% of private schools and classes participated and 5 units were recognized as excellent. In the district-level and city-level competitions for excellent teachers, each year an average of 8-10 private preschool teachers participate, most of whom achieve good or excellent results.
In particular, during the summer break of public schools, many private schools still maintain operations to meet the needs of parents for childcare. At the end of the first semester of the 2024-2025 school year, the retention rate at non-public educational institutions reached over 95%, demonstrating stability and increasingly consolidated reputation.
Ms. Vu Thi Quyen, Deputy Head of the City Department of Education and Training, said: “We regularly organize inspections and monitor the activities of private preschools in accordance with regulations, thereby promptly correcting shortcomings, recognizing and praising units that do well. Private facilities today not only meet the conditions for child care and education but also actively innovate and improve quality, contributing to the comprehensive development of preschool education in the city.”
From the practice in Lang Son city, it can be affirmed that non-public preschool education is gradually affirming its important role and contribution to the comprehensive educational development of the locality. In the coming time, to further improve the quality of private sector activities, it is necessary to continue to encourage socialization, create favorable mechanisms for facilities to invest in sustainable development, while strengthening quality management, providing professional support and creating equal conditions between types of schools. When accompanied and supported properly, private facilities will continue to be a solid foundation, accompanying the education sector in the journey of nurturing the future for the young generation.
