The Fatherland Front at all levels strongly focuses on the grassroots

Yen Bai - With the motto of focusing on the grassroots, constantly innovating working methods towards clarity, focus and efficiency, in 2024, implementing Program 188 of the Provincial Party Committee on implementing political tasks in 2024, the Fatherland Front (VFF) at all levels in the province continues to promote patriotic emulation movements, monitoring, criticism and social security activities... contributing to the successful implementation of economic, cultural and social development goals, ensuring national defense and security in the province.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Yen Bai province and the Fatherland Front Committees of districts, towns and cities signed an emulation covenant for 2025.

In propaganda and mobilization work, the Fatherland Front at all levels focused on propagating about Party congresses at all levels; the efforts and determination of Party committees, authorities, departments, branches and organizations in implementing the goals of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress, and Party congresses at all levels for the 2020-2025 term continued to be strengthened. The Fatherland Front at all levels promptly posted and shared positive information related to the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong; outstanding events and achievements of the province; the province's outstanding efforts in digital transformation, administrative reform, and improving the happiness index for people...

In particular, the work of grasping the people's situation and reflecting people's opinions to Party and State agencies at the sessions of the National Assembly and People's Councils at the same level has been paid attention to and promptly implemented by the Fatherland Front at all levels. Every month, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee collects reports on the situation of public opinion and sends them to the Social Opinion Center, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; synthesizes opinions and recommendations of voters and people and sends them to the Provincial National Assembly Delegation and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

Carrying out the work of solidarity and gathering the people, the Fatherland Front at all levels has mobilized the people to supervise the implementation of mechanisms and policies to ensure the development of ethnic minorities in all aspects; respect and promote the cultural values, good ethics and traditions of ethnic groups and religions, along with eliminating bad customs and superstitions; mobilize ethnic people to unite and help each other develop the economy, eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, and build a cultural life.

During the year, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee held a conference to commend and promote the role of religions in participating in social activities; awarded certificates of merit to 30 outstanding religious dignitaries, officials, and followers with outstanding achievements in participating in social activities, period 2019 - 2024...

The Provincial Fatherland Front Committee has coordinated with the Department of Religion, the Department of Home Affairs, and the Provincial Police to regularly grasp the situation of ethnic groups and religions; meet and present gifts to organizations, religious dignitaries, and typical families of believers on the occasion of holidays and Tet. To celebrate the founding day of the Vietnam National United Front (November 18), the Provincial Fatherland Front has deployed and specifically guided the Fatherland Front at all levels to well organize the National Great Unity Day with many creative activities in 1,356/1,356 villages, hamlets, and residential groups, achieving 100% of the plan.

Promoting the core role in implementing the Campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas", the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels continue to coordinate with organizations to carry out propaganda work and mobilize people to implement the criteria for building new rural areas. Accordingly, people in the province donated over 330,000 m2 of land to build rural roads, cultural houses and public works; built 260 new "Lighting up the countryside" power lines with a total length of 63.84 km; cared for and planted 137 new flower roads with a total length of 71.25 km; contributed over 11,000 working days to build and repair cultural institutions and pour 270 km of concrete roads for rural traffic...

Thereby, contributing to the whole province to increase the total number of communes meeting new rural standards to 115 communes, 43 communes meeting advanced new rural standards, 15 communes meeting model new rural standards; 18 wards and towns meeting urban civilization standards; Yen Bai city was recognized as a type II urban area under the province; 5 district-level units met the standards and completed the task of building new rural areas.

The whole province has 84% ​​of households achieving the title of "Cultural Family"; 73% of villages, hamlets, and residential groups achieving the title of "Cultural Village, Hamlet, and Residential Group". In addition, the Fatherland Front at all levels also coordinated to direct and effectively implement the activities of 3,616 self-management groups/1,356 villages, hamlets, and residential groups; effectively implementing the Movement "All people unite to collect and treat household waste" with 119 models of classifying, collecting, and treating household waste newly established in 2024 in the province.

Implementing social security work, through the provincial Fatherland Front, the provincial "For the Poor" Fund and the provincial social security program have received support of over 23.6 billion VND. From this source of funding, the Provincial "For the Poor" Fund Mobilization Committee supported the construction of "Great Solidarity" houses for 397 households with a total cost of 13.65 billion VND; supported the implementation of 2 economic development models in Mu Cang Chai and Yen Binh districts with an amount of 36 million VND; presented 23 gifts, worth 11.5 million VND to 23 outstanding children from poor and near-poor households; supported 50 million VND to build a new house for 1 poor household in An Luong commune, Van Chan district due to the impact of a tornado; supported 3 billion VND to the Mu Cang Chai District "For the Poor" Fund Mobilization Committee to support the construction of houses for poor households, near-poor households, and households in especially difficult circumstances whose houses were damaged by natural disasters...

Carrying out the work of mobilizing and helping people affected by storm No. 3, by December 2, 2024, the Provincial Relief Mobilization Committee had received more than 368.3 billion VND from over 7,300 organizations and individuals and has so far allocated more than 243.9 billion VND to localities to support people to overcome the consequences of natural disasters and soon stabilize their lives.

Regarding the participation in the implementation of Party and government building work, the Fatherland Front at all levels has provided opinions on over 482 documents; of which, 71 drafts were at the provincial level; 106 drafts at the district level; 305 drafts at the commune level; the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations at all levels have participated in organizing and attending 135 meetings and dialogues with union members, association members and people on issues related to the economic, cultural and social development situation of the locality.

Regarding supervision, the Fatherland Front at all levels chaired and organized 391 supervisions (5 at the provincial level; 18 at the district level; 368 at the commune level). The Fatherland Front at all levels coordinated with the National Assembly delegation, the People's Councils of the province, district and commune to participate in 507 supervisions. The People's Inspection Committee conducted over 320 supervisions, and the Community Investment Supervision Committee supervised over 251 supervisions.

The supervision content focuses on areas such as: the cultivation and training of ethics and lifestyle of leaders, key officials and party members; the implementation of laws on citizen reception, handling of complaints and denunciations by the Chairmen of the People's Committees at district and commune levels; the handling and response to voters' opinions. In carrying out social criticism work, the Fatherland Front at all levels organized and participated in 15 meetings; of which, at the provincial level, 1 meeting; at the district level, 3 meetings; and at the commune level, 11 meetings.

Comrade Ta Van Long - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council affirmed: From the practical contributions of the Fatherland Front at all levels and member organizations, the whole province has contributed to the comprehensive completion of the 2024 plan. The province has achieved and exceeded 31/32 estimated targets; of which, 5/17 socio-economic targets reached the target 1 year ahead of the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress. Culture and society continue to receive attention, care and have made much progress. Poverty is rapidly reduced with the multidimensional poverty rate of 8.67%, ranking 9th out of 14 provinces in the region. The material and spiritual life and happiness index of the people continue to be improved; administrative order and discipline are strengthened; national defense and security are maintained; social order and safety are ensured.

In the coming time, the Fatherland Front at all levels will continue to innovate the content and methods of operation; diversify forms of gathering and uniting people of all ethnic groups and religions and encourage people to compete, be creative, and effectively carry out campaigns and emulation movements; promote the role of mastery and the spirit of self-management of the people, and build a united, prosperous, and happy residential area.

The activities of the Fatherland Front at all levels strongly focusing on the grassroots have helped the overall socio-economic picture of the province in 2024 have many bright spots: GRDP growth rate reached 7.91%, ranking 7th out of 14 provinces in the Northern midland and mountainous region, ranking 25th out of 63 provinces and cities (up 11 places compared to 2023), the average of 4 years (2021 - 2024) reached 7.54%, exceeding the target set by the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress.
