Drones support fire fighting in apartments and high-rise buildings

Drones can both fire powder bullets to put out fires and spray fire extinguishing agents into fires to extinguish them. Notably, these products are being produced domestically.

Vietnam is producing drones to support fire fighting in high-rise buildings and apartments.

On July 7, the Department of Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue (Ministry of Public Security) provided press information about activities taking place within the framework of the International Exhibition on Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Techniques and Equipment in Vietnam 2023 - Fire Safety & Rescue Vietnam 2023.

Colonel Nguyen Minh Khuong - Deputy Director of the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Department - said: Compared to previous exhibitions, this year's exhibition will focus on many new generation, smart fire prevention and fighting, rescue vehicles, security equipment...

"In particular, drones will be used to fight fires in high-rise buildings and apartment buildings," Colonel Khuong informed.

Regarding fire prevention and fighting plans in current apartments and high-rise buildings, Colonel Khuong said: "We are particularly interested in the fire prevention and fighting systems equipped in that building.

The principle is that when a building is constructed, the building's systems and equipment must be equipped to ensure fire fighting and escape.

From the wall fire suppression system, automatic fire suppression, automatic fire alarm, to the escape corridors... must be ensured to be safe, so that we can proactively escape and extinguish the fire. We strictly control this issue."

According to Colonel Khuong, there are many modern devices equipped to support the fire police force to handle emergency situations such as fire fighting robots. If the fire is on a very high floor, difficult to access, there will be drones to serve the fire fighting and rescue.

Introducing the national command and control system for fire prevention and fighting

The Deputy Director of the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Department also informed about the early fire warning system, and the national command and control of fire prevention and fighting will also be introduced.

"When a fire alarm signal is emitted from any facility through the automatic fire alarm system, the fire alarm system will transmit to the fire alarm center of that facility, from there transmitting information to the Fire Prevention and Fighting Police force. At that time, we will grasp information about where the fire is, how it is, and what its scale is to coordinate command and control" - Mr. Khuong informed.

According to Colonel Khuong, this is the largest exhibition ever in Vietnam on fire prevention and fighting. With 400 booths, more than 350 units are agencies, units, manufacturers, leading suppliers of fire prevention and fighting techniques and equipment, rescue, security equipment, safety protection from 23 countries and territories.

In addition, there will be many additional activities such as knowledge dissemination sessions, skills and skill experience guidance for the community, people, students, etc.
