(Dan Tri Newspaper) - Kem Waterfall, which in the Thai ethnic group means "white silk ribbon," has a temperature below 30 degrees Celsius in the summer, making it an ideal choice for tourists during the upcoming April 30th - May 1st holiday.
Kèm Waterfall, also known as Khe Kèm, is located in Lục Dạ commune, Con Cuông district (Nghe An province). Situated in the core area of Pù Mát National Park, surrounded by lush green forests, Kèm Waterfall is a favorite destination for locals and tourists during the hot summer days. From Vinh City, follow National Highway 7 to Con Cuông town, then travel another 25km to reach this pristine tourist spot. Entrance fee is 10,000 VND for children and 30,000 VND for adults. Visitors can choose to walk about 1km on a smooth, tree-lined paved road or take an electric vehicle for 20,000 VND per trip to the foot of the waterfall. Kèm Waterfall, also known as Bổ Bố, means "white silk ribbon" in the local Thái ethnic group's dialect. The waterfall is approximately 500 meters high, with an 80-degree slope. Its cool, pure water cascades down from the mountaintop, creating a white, frothy cascade like a flowing silk ribbon amidst the wild, majestic mountains and forests. Surrounded by the rich, pristine ecosystem of Pu Mat National Park, the waterfall area experiences temperatures below 30 degrees Celsius in summer, significantly lower than the outside temperature. At the foot of the waterfall lies a relatively calm lake with clear blue water. Therefore, many families come here to cool off. If you enjoy the refreshing sensation of water cascading over your head and body, you can choose to swim directly under the waterfall...
The waterfall is divided into many tiers along the rocky outcrops, creating a variety of cascading water flows. Looking up from below, visitors only see a white expanse of foaming water droplets plunging from above. Mr. Le Trung Kien, a tourist from Dak Lak province, was excited when his friends took him to Kem Waterfall: "The Central Highlands also have many waterfalls, but the waterfall here is still amazing, full of oxygen, with fresh air and cool streams..." During their 45-day cross-Vietnam trip, through a recommendation from an acquaintance, Mr. and Mrs. Nguyen Van Hieu (from Dong Nai province) visited Kem Waterfall to experience it. "The pristine beauty, cool climate, abundant greenery, crystal-clear water, and the waterfall are stunning," the tourist commented. Visitors are captivated by the majestic yet poetic beauty of Kèm Waterfall, which is considered by scientists to be one of the most pristine waterfalls in Vietnam. The female tourist immersed herself in the cool air and the wild, majestic beauty of Kèm Waterfall - a gift of nature bestowed upon Pù Mát National Park.
With the extended April 30th - May 1st holiday, temperatures in Nghe An are forecast to reach a high of 39-41 degrees Celsius. Therefore, the open space, fresh air, cool water, and pleasant temperature of Khe Kem are an attractive option for those seeking "healing." At the foot of the waterfall, there are many small, crystal-clear pools where you can see individual pebbles and schools of small fish swimming playfully. When visitors step into the water, the fish rush over to nibble like professional masseurs, relieving fatigue on hot summer days. Along with the waterfall bathing experience, visitors can explore the rich flora and fauna of the core area of Pu Mat National Park or enjoy the mountain specialties of the local people.
