MU rejected 28 million euro offer

MU sent an offer of 28 million euros to recruit young talent Christos Mouzakitis of Olympiacos, but this number is considered too low.

Mouzakitis has emerged as a sensation after bursting onto the scene with Olympiacos. The 18-year-old has impressed with his calm ball handling, outstanding physicality and cunning defensive mind – especially considering he was a goalkeeper as a child.

Not only shining in the domestic league, Mouzakitis and his talented players helped Olympiacos win the 2024 UEFA Youth League. This achievement, combined with the first team winning the Conference League a few months later, immediately put Mouzakitis in the sights of European giants.

According to Times , MU has been pursuing Mouzakitis for more than a year. The problem lies with Olympiacos. The Greek team is not under pressure to sell and has offered a valuation of 40 million euros, much higher than MU's offer of 28 million euros.

Mouzakitis’s value has continued to rise thanks to his seven caps for Greece, along with two assists in 10 league games and five Champions League appearances this season. Meanwhile, United are expected to overhaul their midfield, with the futures of Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes, Kobbie Mainoo and Manuel Ugarte all unclear.

Mouzakitis is on the priority list, but Old Trafford believes the most sensible time to close the deal would be the summer of 2026, when the market is less turbulent and negotiations are more open.
