MU sent scouts to monitor Viktor Gyokeres

Manchester United sent scout Sergio Souza to Stockholm to watch Sweden beat Slovakia 2-1 in the Nations League. Gyokeres opened the scoring for Sweden in the third minute, helping his team to victory. It was his fifth goal for the national team in this year's Nations League campaign, along with four assists.

MU transfer 11/6: Viktor Gyokeres should belong to Old Trafford!

At Sporting, Gyokeres also had an impressive 2024/25 season with 23 goals in all competitions. With this form, he attracted the attention of many big clubs, including Manchester United. The 26-year-old is said to be one of the targets that coach Ruben Amorim could bring to Old Trafford, if Manchester United are willing to spend around £65 million. However, the possibility of this deal happening will be in the summer transfer window of 2025, rather than next winter.

Gyokeres was coy when asked about reuniting with Ruben Amorim at United, saying: “He must have strikers there. It would be nice but I don’t expect too much because there is nothing concrete yet. Ruben Amorim was very important to me. He gave me a chance and helped me improve a lot. It’s sad that he left but we understand his decision.”
