On May 26, the Gia Lai Provincial People's Court sentenced defendant Vu Ngoc Linh (38 years old, residing in Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City) to 20 years in prison and Nguyen Thanh Hai (35 years old, residing in Binh Tan District, Ho Chi Minh City) to 18 years in prison for the crime of "Illegal drug trafficking".

According to case records, Vu Ngoc Linh, Nguyen Thanh Hai and Dinh Hoang Bao An (34 years old, residing in Chu Se town, Chu Se district) are friends.
On January 16, 2021, Linh sold 508.9802 grams of Ketamine to An for VND 215.3 million. Linh and An agreed to let Hai transport all of these drugs from Ho Chi Minh City to Gia Lai and deliver them to An.
At around 1:00 a.m. on January 17, 2021, Hai and An met and delivered drugs in Gia Nghia ( Dak Nong province). After receiving the drugs, An transported the drugs to Chu Se district. However, while selling drugs to others, Tan was discovered and caught red-handed by the anti-drug force of Gia Lai Provincial Police in village 6, Ia Le commune, Chu Puh district, Gia Lai province.
In addition, in December 2020, Linh sold drugs to An twice. The first time, Linh sent drugs by passenger bus from Ho Chi Minh City to Chu Se district; the second time, Linh gave drugs to Hai to transport to Chu Se and deliver to An.
The total amount of money An transferred to Linh was 249.5 million VND, of which the amount to buy 508.9802 grams of Ketamine was 215.3 million VND.
Previously, Dinh Hoang Bao An was tried by the Gia Lai Provincial People's Court on April 22, 2022 and sentenced to 16 years in prison for "Illegal drug trafficking".
