According to statistics from the independent box office website Box Office Vietnam (with certain errors), as of 5:10 p.m. on September 7, the revenue of Red Rain was more than 552 billion VND, surpassing the previous record held by the film Mai (revenue of more than 551 billion VND).

Thus, the work of director, Meritorious Artist Dang Thai Huyen only took about 17 days to surpass the record of the film of director Tran Thanh. Previously, Mai reached the revenue milestone of 500 billion VND after more than 20 days. The film was released on the occasion of Lunar New Year 2024, from February 10, 2024 and left theaters at the end of April 2024, which is a record time in theaters, about 11 weeks with a revenue of more than 551.2 billion VND.

On September 6, some information posted on the media shared that after surpassing the 520 billion VND mark, Red Rain surpassed the movie Mai .

Mai 's total revenue of 551 billion VND is the basis for comparison with Red Rain , calculated by the same unit Box Office Vietnam.

On its journey to setting "unprecedented" records for Vietnamese cinema, Red Rain has had some extremely memorable revenue milestones.

Specifically, in the initial stage, Red Rain reached the 100 billion VND mark after more than 3 days of release, slower than the 2.5 day record of The Four Guardians but still faster than the movie Mai .

After 7 days of release, the film reached the 200 billion VND revenue mark, becoming the first Vietnamese war film to reach this milestone (surpassing the revenue of more than 172 billion VND of Tunnels: Sun in the Dark ).

This achievement of 200 billion VND is only behind Tran Thanh's films, Mai (6 days) and The Four Guardians (5 days).

Red Rain's revenue record of 300 billion VND was set after 9 days, also the second fastest after Mai (8 days).

However, with two records of 400 and 500 billion VND, Red Rain made a spectacular comeback against Mai .

The film reached the 400 billion VND mark the fastest of all time, taking only 11 days compared to nearly 12 days for Mai . And at the 500 billion VND revenue milestone, the film was far ahead, taking only 14 days, compared to more than 20 days for Mai . Currently, Red Rain also holds the record for the highest revenue in one day, reaching nearly 55 billion VND on September 1.

In its third week of release, the film still maintains its appeal with a very high number of screenings and ticket sales.

As of September 6, the film still grossed over VND30 billion. At 5pm on September 7, the film grossed over VND25 billion.

This achievement is also completely superior to the two Vietnamese films ranked right next to it, Getting Rich with Ghosts: Diamond War and Ghost Bride .

Currently, most experts predict that Red Rain can completely surpass the 600 billion VND mark, or even higher.

The heat of Red Rain may only cool down when the two horror films The Bride Contract (Vietnam) and The Conjuring: Last Rites (USA) are released from September 12 or even be maintained until another highly anticipated Vietnamese film - Sky Deathmatch will be released from September 19.
