The Muay Thai event of the 3rd Asian Youth Games (Asian Youth Games 2025) has ended in Bahrain, leaving behind many emotions and pride for Vietnamese sports. In this competition, the Vietnamese youth team competed steadfastly, bringing home 1 silver medal and 2 bronze medals, affirming the remarkable progress of Vietnamese Muay Thai on the continental arena.

Of which, the silver medal belongs to young female boxer Nguyen Thi Thu Phuong, the bronze medal belongs to female athlete Do Phuong Nguyen and athlete Tran Quoc Bao.

Standing out among them was young boxer Tran Quoc Bao, representative of the HCMC Muay team, who won the Bronze Medal in the men's 48 kg category. Quoc Bao defeated his opponent Nepal by knockout in the second round, then continued to compete impressively against the Malaysian boxer to advance to the semi-finals.

Although he stopped at the threshold of the final, his brave performance brought pride to Muay TP HCM, the unit that is always at the forefront of the movement to develop young Muay in Vietnam.

Tran Quoc Bao's achievement also recalls the golden mark 28 years ago, when boxer Giap Trung Thang won a silver medal in the men's 51 kg category at the 1998 Asian Games in Bangkok (Thailand) - the first medal of Vietnamese Muay at the continental arena, opening a path of development for this sport in Vietnam.

From the historic milestone at the 1998 Asian Games to the impressive achievement at the 2025 Asian Youth Games, Muay Vietnam continues to affirm the spirit of "Pride - Development", persistently building a successor force and reaching the Asian level, affirming the position of traditional martial arts in the flow of modern Vietnamese sports.

At this year's congress (taking place until October 31), the Vietnamese delegation has 5 silver medals and 6 bronze medals.
