Today, former Vietnamese national football players such as Duong Hong Son, Thach Bao Khanh, and Pham Thanh Luong participated in a football training program (Football Clinic) for talented young players as part of Mitsubishi Electric's CSR activities, combined with the AFF Cup trophy parade.
The event took place at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center (VYF) and included a training workshop and activities applying the "Okada" training method, named after the famous coach Takeshi Okada. The workshop was led by coaches from Imabari Football Club, a professional Japanese club in the Meiji Yasuda J3 League. This is also the coach who led the Japanese national team to their first FIFA World Cup appearance in 1998 and guided Japan to the knockout stage of the 2010 World Cup.
The AFF Cup is the region's premier football event, with its 15th edition taking place this December. The Vietnamese national team's goal is to reach the final.

The group stage of the AFF Cup 2024 kicks off on December 8th with the participation of Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia, and the play-off winner Timor Leste in Group A.
Meanwhile, Group B will include Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines, Myanmar, and Laos, with the top two teams from each group advancing directly to the next round.
The semi-finals will be held over the home and away legs on December 26-27 and December 29-30, while the finals will take place on January 2 and 5, 2025, respectively.
