Last night, PSG went into their Champions League group stage match against Bilbao at the San Mames stadium without the services of the 2025 Ballon d'Or winner Ousmane Dembele. However, they were still far stronger than the Spanish team.

Immediately after the opening whistle, PSG launched a strong attack, forcing Bilbao to retreat to their own half to defend. In the 4th minute, the Parisian team had a chance to open the scoring when Warren Zaire-Emery's shot narrowly missed the target.
In the 18th minute, Fabian Ruiz received the ball from a pass on the right wing. The Spanish player controlled it with his chest and then took a quick shot, but the ball went slightly over the crossbar.
In the 26th minute, Gorka Guruzeta surprisingly put the ball into the PSG net, but the referee disallowed the goal for offside. For the remainder of the first half, the reigning champions PSG continued to attack relentlessly but without success.
In the second half, the game unfolded similarly. In the 49th minute, Mayulu had a fantastic scoring opportunity from an open position inside the penalty area. However, Bilbao's goalkeeper Unai Simon made an excellent save.
In the 65th minute, Bradley Barcola beat goalkeeper Simon, but the ball hit the crossbar. In the 68th minute, Fabian Ruiz nearly put his name on the scoresheet, but the referee disallowed the goal for offside.
In the 86th minute, Fabian Ruiz once again missed a golden opportunity. He unleashed two consecutive shots inside the penalty area, both saved by goalkeeper Simon, and then Berchiche cleared the ball off the goal line. The match ended in a 0-0 draw.
With this result, PSG are currently third in the standings with 13 points, but they are only one point ahead of the teams outside the top eight (who qualify for the round of 16). Meanwhile, Bilbao are in 28th place with 5 points.

In another match, Mourinho's Benfica caused a major surprise by winning 2-0 against Napoli at their home stadium, Da Luz. Rios scored the opening goal for Benfica in the 20th minute, and Bareiro extended the lead to 2-0 in the 49th minute.
Napoli, under coach Conte, were unable to break through Benfica's solid defense to score in this match.
This is Benfica's second consecutive victory in the Champions League after four consecutive defeats. In the previous round, Mourinho's team also beat Ajax 2-0.
Thanks to this, Benfica climbed to 25th place with 6 points and are only 1 point behind the qualifying group (top 24). They have two more matches against Juventus and Real Madrid to decide their fate. Meanwhile, Napoli is ranked 23rd with 7 points.
