In the match of the 6th round of the Champions League group stage, Chelsea had a trip to Atalanta's field. Before entering this match, both teams had 10 points. That revealed a tense battle.

Chelsea were the favorites and took the lead through Joao Pedro, but they struggled to make it to Bergamo. Atalanta scored two goals in the second half to come from behind to win 2-1 against the Blues.
After this victory, Chelsea is ranked 11th with 10 points, while Atalanta has risen to 3rd place with 13 points. The two teams have only two more matches to decide their fate in the Champions League.
Entering the match, Atalanta surprised Chelsea by deciding to attack first. They missed two extremely dangerous opportunities from De Ketelaere and Acheampong in the first minutes.
In that situation, Chelsea unexpectedly took the lead. In the 25th minute, Reece James made a cross for Joao Pedro to finish into the net of Atalanta. Initially, the linesman ruled offside but after consulting VAR, the referee recognized the goal.
During the rest of the first half, Chelsea played solidly in their home field. Atalanta did not create any significant opportunities.
Chelsea had a chance to score early in the second half when Reece James fired a shot from just outside the box. Atalanta goalkeeper Carnesecchi stood by and watched, but the ball went just wide of the goal.

In the 55th minute, the home team Atalanta had an equalizer. From a cross from the right wing by De Ketelaere, Scamacca jumped high and headed the ball into the Chelsea net while unmarked.
In the following minutes, Atalanta attacked Chelsea's goal relentlessly. Finally, what had to happen happened. In the 83rd minute, De Ketelaere comfortably dribbled into the penalty area without encountering any obstruction from Chelsea. The Belgian player fired a shot past goalkeeper Sanchez, raising the score to 2-1 for Atalanta.
Chelsea went all out on the attack after this goal and created some trouble. However, Atalanta's defense remained strong. The Bergamo team successfully secured a 2-1 victory over Chelsea.
