On June 13th, Sohu reported that singer Zhang Hengyuan, the runner-up of The Voice China, passed away at the age of 37 after battling melanoma. This news shocked fans as the singer and his family had not disclosed his health condition.

The Voice China runner-up Zhang Hengyuan has passed away at the age of 37.

Zhang Hengyuan had been battling malignant cancer for many years. In early May, his health deteriorated, and his condition worsened, leading to hospitalization, but he unfortunately did not survive. Zhang Hengyuan's passing has saddened many friends, colleagues, and fans. His funeral was held on June 18th in Guizhou, China.

Zhang Hengyuan was born in 1986 in Guizhou, China. He became known to the public when he participated in The Voice China in 2013. He chose to join the team of coach Wang Feng (Zhang Ziyi's husband). He excelled against many strong competitors and won the runner-up title. After the competition, Zhang Hengyuan pursued a professional singing career, releasing several songs such as "The Heirs" and "Black Wings."

In March 2022, Zhang Hengyuan married singer Bi Xia after nine years together. The couple welcomed their first son in August of the same year. Currently, the boy is not yet one year old.
