Spreading the spirit of volunteerism among doctors and medical staff.

In recent years, alongside the strong socio-economic development, charitable models aimed at vulnerable communities have flourished. Most notably, there are health care clubs and free dental clinics run by doctors and medical professionals for the poor, homeless, and patients in difficult circumstances. Without fanfare or ostentation, these models are quietly creating a circle of kindness between urban and rural life in Vietnam.

18 free surgeries were performed to help patients with birth defects integrate into the community.

During the winter days of December 2025, a team of doctors and medical staff from the Sala Humanitarian Club collaborated to organize screening and surgery for the people of Tuyen Quang. For many families, this was a rare opportunity to access specialized medical services.

At the Chiêm Hóa Regional Medical Center ( Tuyên Quang ), a team of doctors and medical staff from the Sala Humanitarian Club, including leading experts from the Vietnam-Germany Friendship Hospital, collaborated with local doctors and medical staff to conduct screening examinations for the people. After thorough examinations of nearly 100 cases, 18 complex surgeries were performed, helping patients with deformities and motor disabilities regain the opportunity to reintegrate into life.

According to Dr. Ha Van Linh, Director of the Chiem Hoa Regional Medical Center, the program has practical significance for people in mountainous areas, not only in terms of treatment results but also in providing moral support, helping patients overcome feelings of inferiority and giving them more motivation to reintegrate into life.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Manh Khanh, Chairman of the Sala Club, explained the reason for choosing Tuyen Quang as the destination from a historical perspective. According to him, Chiem Hoa was once a place where the medical profession was supported by the people during the resistance war, so the return trip has the meaning of showing gratitude and reminding the current generation of their responsibility to continue this work.

Besides providing medical examinations and treatment, the delegation also organized the inauguration ceremony for the Khau Luong - Khau Lang school branch, Kien Thiet Kindergarten. The project includes two spacious classrooms built entirely with socialized resources on a 2,000m² plot of land donated by Ms. Nong Thi Diu, a local resident.

The charity trip to Tuyen Quang is a key activity in the program celebrating the 15th anniversary of the Sala Humanitarian Club. This is a charitable organization established in 2010, bringing together doctors, medical experts, philanthropists, and volunteers from both within and outside the country.

Over the past 15 years, the club has provided free medical examinations, treatment, and surgery for the poor and disabled children, and built many schools in disadvantaged areas, contributing to supporting thousands of patients nationwide. After 15 years of operation, the Sala Humanitarian Club has organized many free medical examinations and surgeries in disadvantaged localities, supporting the treatment of thousands of patients.

People's Physician, specialist doctor Nguyen Van Giao, Deputy Director of the Tuyen Quang Department of Health, assessed that the club's operational model not only helps reduce the burden on grassroots health facilities but also contributes to improving professional capacity through coordination and technology transfer.

Give a smile, receive a smile.

Driven by a philanthropic spirit, Dr. Nguyen Van Hoa, the founder of Shinbi Dental Clinic, personally undertakes the long-term charitable project "Giving Smiles - Receiving Smiles," which aims to restore smiles and bring confidence to disadvantaged people in the community. This project was launched in December 2025.

Throughout his years of practice, Dr. Hoa has encountered many patients with serious dental problems who lacked the financial means to receive treatment. Tooth loss, chronic infections, or pain not only affect health but also cause many people to withdraw from social interactions and lose job opportunities. "There are situations where an incomplete smile leads to a loss of self-confidence," Dr. Hoa shared.

From these experiences, he believes that oral care not only cures diseases but also helps heal the spirit. Driven by a desire to bring about lasting change in the community, Shinbi developed the "Give a Smile - Receive a Smile" project as a regular humanitarian activity. The project focuses on supporting elderly people living alone, single mothers, impoverished children, cancer patients, and other particularly disadvantaged individuals who cannot afford quality dental services.

The project provides free dental services to patients, including porcelain veneers, restoration of missing teeth, dental implants, and other necessary oral treatments. All treatments will be performed by Dr. Nguyen Van Hoa and the professional team at Shinbi Dental Clinic. According to Dr. Hoa, the project's biggest goal is to bring about "healthy smiles"—not only healthy smiles, but also smiles of hope.

For every dental care and treatment bill received by patients, his team will donate 5-10% of the total amount to charity. This is a sustainable source of income based on Shinbi's revenue, ensuring that individuals and those in difficult circumstances always receive help, as Dr. Hoa believes.

In parallel with providing long-term assistance and support to help them develop their livelihoods and improve their circumstances, Dr. Hoa will also continue to implement a program to support people in flood-affected areas, including providing essential supplies and medical assistance to severely affected households.

"Seeing cancer patients, the poor, and those in difficult circumstances benefit is the greatest reward in my philanthropic journey," Dr. Hoa believes. By going directly to local communities, understanding the needs of those requiring help, working with local authorities to find solutions, and providing support and supervision to help each individual develop and overcome their circumstances, Dr. Hoa hopes his philanthropic philosophy will be inherited and continued by his children.

"I want to leave a legacy of kindness and humanity for my children, not just material possessions," Dr. Hoa shared. The doctor's dedication to bringing smiles and hope to patients multiplies warmth and kindness in life.

Beyond her work in dentistry, Dr. Hoa has made significant contributions to community activities over the years. One notable program is the "2K (2,000 VND) Meal Program for Cancer Patients," launched in 2019. This program provides hundreds of nutritious meals daily for a donation of 2,000 VND, helping patients alleviate their financial burden during treatment.

Sharing her life philosophy, Dr. Hoa said: “I always believe that giving is forever. Every act of kindness that comes from the heart can spread and create lasting value for society. Dentistry is not just about treating teeth, but also about healing. And every smile given is a seed of hope sown.”

As he spoke about his work, Dr. Hoa's eyes lit up with warmth and happiness. He humbly and honestly recounted that when he met cancer patients and dialysis patients, seeing their yearning for life, their desire for communication to feel alive, deeply moved him.

There are people who, after receiving chemotherapy the day before, still try to go to the 2K rice restaurant the next day, only to pass away a few days later. There are people who, after dialysis, still go to meet friends in the dialysis community to chat and socialize, to ease the fatigue and pain they are enduring…

"They have given me and my colleagues positive energy, enabling us to do even more and support even more people's lives," said Dr. Hoa.

What sets Dr. Hoa apart is that, having traveled extensively and encountered many different lives and circumstances, he has gained a wealth of practical insights that allow him to help the poor and the sick in a realistic way. Every situation he assists is fundamentally sound, long-term, and yields tangible results.

He and his colleagues not only provide medical and material support, but also go to the families' homes to understand their circumstances and support their livelihoods so they can rise above their adversity sustainably. In addition, he thoroughly investigates and resolutely rejects those who fabricate evidence or solicit charity simply to profit from the community's kindness.

Inspired by the positive energy of their patients, who are in difficult circumstances but cherish life and strive to improve themselves every day, the doctors and nurses feel they need to do more to spread the message: No matter the circumstances, everyone should live a decent and good life.
