Male student who lost 4 relatives in Ha Long boat capsize receives full scholarship on opening day

At the opening ceremony, the University of Transport Technology awarded a full scholarship worth 250 million VND to male student Nguyen Huu Phuoc. Phuoc was fortunately saved in the boat capsize in Ha Long, but lost his father, mother, older sister and younger sister.

On the morning of September 5, the University of Transport Technology held the opening ceremony for the new school year 2025 - 2026, and welcomed more than 6,500 new students for the entire course.

Notably, at the ceremony, the school awarded a full scholarship worth 250 million VND to new student Nguyen Huu Phuoc (Dai Thanh commune, Hanoi ), majoring in artificial intelligence and smart transportation.

In the boat capsize in Ha Long on July 19, Phuoc's family of five people on board now only he is left.

To encourage Phuoc's spirit of learning and training, the University of Transport Technology awarded a full scholarship, totaling 250 million VND, to the male student at the opening ceremony.

The above scholarship includes full tuition exemption for the course (4.5 years), free dormitory accommodation, and living allowance of 3 million VND/month.

In addition, at the opening ceremony, the school also awarded scholarships to the valedictorians and salutatorians of the 2025-2026 school year to encourage the spirit of learning and training.
