Mr. Cap Quy Phuc, Head of the E-commerce Tax Department
Adapting to new challenges in electronic tax management
On October 22-23, the Tax Department coordinated with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to organize a training course on "Tax inspection of e-commerce business activities". This is a program within the framework of cooperation between the two sides, aiming to improve the capacity of Vietnamese tax officials in the digital age.
In his opening speech, Mr. Cap Quy Phuc, Head of the E-commerce Tax Department, emphasized: E-commerce is profoundly changing the way of doing business globally. Along with great opportunities, this field also poses many challenges for management, especially in the inspection and supervision of tax obligations.
According to Mr. Phuc, in that context, equipping tax officials with knowledge, skills and modern professional tools is an urgent requirement. This course not only provides professional content but also creates a space to share practical experiences and resolve difficulties arising in the process of tax inspection of e-commerce activities.
The two-day course focuses on six main topics: Efforts of e-commerce inspection and examination teams; methods of inspecting and examining enterprises with e-commerce activities; system-based inspection and examination; digital investigation; how to respond to e-commerce platforms; cross-border supplier inspection.
Through these topics, students will have access to advanced testing models and methods, learn from international experiences and analyze tax risks in the digital environment. At the same time, the program also helps tax officials master the mechanism to handle complex situations arising in e-commerce activities - a field with high transaction speed, multi-platform and international.
"This is a practical activity, helping tax officials improve their capacity to analyze data, detect risks and effectively apply technology in electronic tax inspection and supervision," Head of the Department Cap Quy Phuc emphasized.

JICA representative, Mr. Noguchi Daisuke, expressed his joy at accompanying the Vietnam Tax Department in training and capacity building activities for civil servants.
International cooperation promotes digital transformation of the tax sector
JICA representative, Mr. Noguchi Daisuke, said that the rapid development of e-commerce globally makes building a transparent and effective tax management mechanism a common challenge for many countries, not just Vietnam.
According to Mr. Noguchi, this training course not only helps to exchange international expertise and experience, but also provides an opportunity to enhance understanding and cooperation between Japanese experts and Vietnamese tax officials. He believes that the knowledge gained will help trainees apply it effectively in their work, contributing to improving the efficiency of tax management and promoting comprehensive digital transformation in this field.
At the end of the course, all students highly appreciated the practicality and depth of the program. Updating inspection methods, risk analysis, and the ability to apply digital technology help tax officials become more confident in managing e-commerce activities - a field that is growing strongly and increasingly diverse in form.
The training course not only brings professional value but also demonstrates the attention of the Tax sector's leaders to the training and development of high-quality human resources. This is a practical step for the Vietnamese Tax sector to meet new requirements in the context of an increasingly expanding and complex digital economy .
